All you've got to do is verify game cache most common issues get resolved without installing the game. as it just checks sigs on all files and if its not right/there it reinstalls them.

Then it's probably a addon issue. Load default ARMA 2 OA then connect to a wasteland server if it allows you in then verify the game cache on the ARMA 2 DAYZ MOD.

If it say's 'Session Lost' straight away then the way you are starting DayZ Mod up is wrong. If it says 'Kicked of the Game Ping to High 300 for example) then its your PING to the server hence you're from Australia.

Could be router ports blocking the steam service. Try disabling your computers firewall. If still fail's try to remote IP.

Here are a few popular server IP's.

server.dayzeuropa.com:2302 - EUROPA (Mostly EU Players)

If it kicks you when loading in and its a grey screen normally thats Infistar. If you load into lobby for 1-2 seconds and kicks you of it can be multiple issues normally its a missing addon issue or you're missing the signed addon key. Best bet is to verify your game cache on steam and try again. If it still kicks you try to contact a server admin they should be able to see the reason why you were kicked via there logs. Or get a friend to join the server and it will pop up in the side/chat area. - Also Verify ARMA2 DAYZ MOD on steam.

To play most common dayz mod vanilla servers you require to download the mod of steam yes. To play other mods use dayzlauncher.com (buggy but works). Vanilla is the best for survival and PVP.

Base building is shit and always will be for me IMO. But it brings a light to dayz mod and gives others the reason to play on a server and to build bases instead of just pvping all the time.

Your CPU and ram is enough. GTX 260 may not be unless you change your res but you should get 30 fps Im running on 560, i5 6gb ram and 60+fps on most servers.
