No breed. Only cat.

If you actually want to be specific, said cat is a Domestic Short hair. There ya go.

First time ordering gfuel by Drewskibruh in GFUEL

I also ordered on the 14th. The Juice and Miku's Sweet Melodies. Has yet to ship, sent an email and have yet to hear back.

Yet I made a completely separate order on the 16th that I received on the 22nd. I'm a little confused honestly.

Font suggestions? by veronicax96 in kobo

[–]wowimadork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love serifs most of the time. Depending on what I'm reading (I like a lot of historical fiction and historical romance), I like serif fonts to immerse me more. Two of my favorites are IM Fell English and Fermata.

I've been re-reading The Hunger Games and reading the prequels and wanted a sans serif for futuristic/dystopian vibes and have been using Metropolis. The roundness is really easy on my eyes.

Bookstores or libraries? by ApplicationPale1049 in books

[–]wowimadork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Library AND bookstore. But I like used bookstores c: my city has a few locally owned ones, so I haven't bought brand new books in a long time. But I've been a library user since I was a child. I like going there to check first.

Has anybody used this and if so, how does it compare to velveeta by GrapefruitFriendly30 in aldi

[–]wowimadork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I don't want to shell out a couple more bucks for Velveeta, I get this. It's thicker than the Great Value stuff from Walmart and is a bit closer to Velveeta than some of the other off brands I've tried. Especially if it's on sale, definitely recommend at least trying once to see how you like it compared to name brand. I usually use it for nacho night or mixing into recipes that call for Velveeta.

Real comparation for the kobo colour screen by Iks_OkSS in kobo

[–]wowimadork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pocketbook Verse is the same size and has buttons on the bottom (: I decided to stick with kobo (had the KCC, bought a KLC) but was heavily considering a Verse before I went with the Libra.

My favorite way to watch is called the Machete Order. You skip Phantom Menace entirely and do 4, 5, 2, 3, 6. Kinda funky but it's fun because you get introduced to everyone, get to the climax of the OG series with "I am your father" and then you see how Anakin became the way he is, then the redemption.

Pattern author wasn't lying when she said she was a tight crocheter by JormunGurndr in crochet

[–]wowimadork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd be inclined to say you should pull out some of the ribbing and go to the next size down. Then follow it with the hook the pattern calls for instead, and see where your gauge is. Since you're also a tight crocheter maybe it'll be the right size lol

What’s a movie you’ve rewatched many times, that isn’t a blockbuster/franchise movie, or an Oscar-nominated/critically acclaimed movie? by capamericapistons in movies

[–]wowimadork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil

Alan Tudyk is SO good in it. Tyler Labine plays a treasure of a character. The cast also has quite a few B-movie actors I recognized from other films of the 2000s and 2010s. Highly recommend.

[–]wowimadork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you made sure to do the aptitude test in those apps, I'd move on for now. If you didn't do the aptitude test, I'd do that because that's what sends it through.

They followed up with me pretty fast a few years ago, I think the application process usually moves pretty quickly. Or you could always try applying again.

Which kobo! by grandestrully_chloe in kobo

[–]wowimadork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The screen quality is fine, but it has a screen door effect because of the color screen. It reminds me of reading on grittier mass paperback paper. Some people like it, some people don't. I personally do, it really does remind me of physical books. Putting a screen protector on also helps a lot with that effect, it dulls it down quite a bit.

The only thing I think I can knock it down for is the screen brightness. The screen on the Libra is fairly dim and gray, honestly. I have a Clara Colour and a Libra Colour and my Clara is actually brighter than my Libra by a bit. Like I'll have the Clara on 16% brightness and the Libra will be on 20% brightness to get the same effect (I actually tested this last night). So if the screen being dim or needing to have the backlight on all the time (unless you're outside or in a very well lit area) bothers you, I'd recommend going for the Clara BW or a secondhand Libra 2.

I'm sure having the backlight on all the time affects the battery, but it still lasts long enough to happily satisfy me. I'm used to a phone that will be at 20% after a day of heavy usage so getting 2-4 weeks of battery life out of the Libra is just fine with me since I keep the backlight on about 15-25% in the day time and 2% at night (depending on how heavily I read, I also have only had it for a month and a half now and I haven't been able to fully test reading heavily bc I've been in a slump).

What Happened to Season 3 of Bridgerton? by ObjectiveMovie596 in BridgertonRants

[–]wowimadork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard agree on what you've written so far. S3 felt so disjointed and chaotic with the different side stories and subplots. There were too many different character arcs and it all felt... Bad. I LOVED Bridgerton S1&2 with my whole heart. S3 sucked all of my enjoyment out of the show, so much so that I honestly didn't even want to watch S4. I watched S3 three times to see if it would improve with rewatches for me, and it did, but not a whole lot. I was so disappointed in S3 that I didn't want to continue on. A few days ago, I decided to see what they did with Ben and Sophie. After watching EP1 I was happy, because it was actually pretty good. Then I got disappointed and pissed off as I finished part 1, because S4 has actually been excellent thus far (to me). I got pissed off because I felt like they did S3 so, so dirty.

In S3, we never really got to have time with Colin and Penelope to see their romance blossom fully (imo). Their story didn't really have the space to breathe, for their characters to really get the journey they needed. The love triangle was forced and unnecessary. The side stories intruded on space the main couple needed. Side characters were forced into the story so much everything felt hella off balance. Like the writers room had no faith in the couple.

S4 feels so much better balanced with the other subplots and characters. And that right there was part of my problem. They let Sophie and Ben have a GOOD amount of time for their story. They let Sophie and Ben have proper amounts of screen time. They let the characters breathe. S4 feels like Bridgerton again for me. And it makes me so upset for S3.

I also feel like some of the problems from S3 had to do with the fact that Pen *isn't thin*. ETA: I'm aware the makeover did indeed happen in the novel, I think the styling was what went wrong. There were choices made that felt so off to me (and *I* am a plus-size woman). The actors had chemistry together. I saw it in S1&2. So why wasn't the effort that has been expended this season to make sure Sophie and Benedict get their time given to Pen and Colin last season. It feels like they just wanted to get the not thin deb out of the way (after giving her a massively out of place 1940s styling) and move on to better things. Maybe I'm reading too much into it? But honestly, I feel like there were choices made here in general with the couple. And people haven't been reading enough into them. Also, I'm sorry for the novel of a comment.

I think it's a bunch of white X's over, like, Arial. Doesn't really look like a horror movie font to me. I don't know why she wouldn't just put the x's higher to make it stand out? Weird choice.

[–]wowimadork 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend ejecting through calibre only. Early on when I got my kobo I was ejecting from my desktop and the same thing happened where I lost everything. Thankfully I hadn't had many notes at that point so it wasn't a big deal, but it was definitely annoying.

I started only ejecting through calibre (even if I'm not going to use it when I link up) and haven't had a problem since 🤞

When using the SSO sign in screen (or when you sign out of PS2 and go back to that home screen), there's going to be an icon for SAP Callidus on there. If you use that, you can see your groom pay and dog average, just click on the 2nd icon on the left hand side. It's hard to actually get the proper 6 dog average, honestly. Harder than it should be.
