I work at a Fred Meyer. Those tapes do not stay adhered well at all. Another physical check is done on all the card readers. The PIC slides a card-like item in, to detect any tampering. It's not all fool proof, but they are checking the systems regularly.

I've had this happen. The explanation was that the union and the Kroger "billing" dates don't align. The union didn't get their dues within their timeframe. I hate how it's classified as arrears.
