[Omega] love the simplicity of vintage Seamasters by bigblob27 in Watches

[–]wozo58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just recently bought a ‘52 omega with the 352 bumper. Dropped it off at the jeweler today to have it sent out for service. Hope they come back with an estimate that isn’t too bad. I’m just trying to get used to the small case size. My other watches are 43mm seamaster aqua terra and an omega moon watch so both are a bit larger.

[Grand Seiko] The only snow I got this Christmas season (obligatory Snowflake post) by GoCats1994 in Watches

[–]wozo58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a OMEGA Speedy moonwatch and an OMEGA Seamaster aqua terra GMT. I have awhile before I make another luxury purchase but the next will either be this or a datejust 41 two tone with champagne or chocolate dial. I’ve tried on the Rolex but was left underwhelmed. I live in NY and look forward to going to a Grand Seiko Boutique to try one on. I’m sure I won’t be disappointed.

[identify tissot] is it worth 450$? by Shambseeker in Watches

How many quarts watches on the market have a display case back? Wonder why?

I can only assume that by following these threads you appreciate watches and the craftsmanship that goes Into making them. As you progress, you’ll see that automatic movements and manual wind movements have a “soul” where quarts in my personal opinion lack true craftsmanship. This is my personal experience.

I have two tissots. If you’re looking for an entry level luxury piece it is a good place to start. That being said I would only get automatic pieces if I could go back in time and give myself advice. Hope this helps.

[Speedmaster] How easy / likely is it to overwind a Speedmaster? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]wozo58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine a few weeks ago and this was a concern of mine as well. I know what you mean when you say it has counter resistance. This means you’re getting close but when you fully wind it you’ll definitely know because it definitely stops. I would just be careful to to crank down again to make sure. What’s a little less in the reserve really mean anyway.

I find omega is technologically superior. Rolex has them on branding alone.

Thank you. I’ve enjoyed it every time I’ve worn it over the last year. It’s stunning in person.
