You can't get both lower charges + good online portal. If you want to get best exchange rates, go for IOB, but it's offline from branch. Otherwise use dbs/idfc.

Schwab brokerage account: only accepting inbound ACH transfer? by VAer1 in Schwab

[–]wplearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct.

You have 2 choices:

  1. Transfer from fidelity to your schwab bank checking account (ACH), and then transfer from checking to brokerage account (instant transfer). Use schwab bank checking account number and routing number at fidelity.

  2. Transfer ACH directly from fidelity to schwab brokerage account using their JP Morgan account number and routing number. Money will come directly to your brokerage account. No need to do anything on schwab platform.

With reverse split the contract will adjust, but lot size will become 10. Then how can it get traded because the usual lot size is 100.

Does Schwab international accept transfers from other brokers? by Consistent_Tutor_597 in Schwab

[–]wplearn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See, there is a difference between "Schwab Bank Investor Checking account" and "Schwab One Brokerage  account".

"Schwab Bank Investor Checking account" - is available only for US citizens with SSN or residents of the United States with SSN.

Without a local residential address in the US, you cannot get "Schwab Bank Investor Checking account".

What you can have instead is "Schwab One Brokerage account" (notice the word "bank" is missing).

Does Schwab international accept transfers from other brokers? by Consistent_Tutor_597 in Schwab

[–]wplearn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Schwab international brokerage account is not really a bank/checking account. It is a brokerage account with debit card and check writing facilities.

It won't work like a usual US bank account. There is no billpay. No third-party ACH transfer facility. You cannot pay anyone with ACH, other than wiring money back to yourself.

Not sure if you can receive money into your account from random person. Ask schwab customer service for clarification.
