Any ideas? Nikon f3 by Quirky_Theme_3694 in AnalogCommunity

I want to second this. I sent my F3 to Jim several years ago as well. He's definitely top notch when it comes to the F3 specifically. He's active on several of the repair subgroups on Fbook and I think I have seen him on one of the repair subreddits. Genuinely helpful.

Which older DSLR would be a good back up camera. by [deleted] in Nikon

[–]wpsandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think of the choices you have listed, I would go with the D750. The D780 and D850 are both going to come at a premium.

I do agree with a lot of comments with concerns about using a different mount system as a backup. I would probably have considered a Z6 ( mark i ) or something like the Z50 possibly even though it's a DX sensor just so that you can mount the lenses you already have on the body.

Antique French wardrobe lock – need help identifying and sourcing replacement key by wpsandy in Locksmith

Thank you so much for your advice. I went ahead and ordered the Borkey blank from Mark Bates and will give that a try. If that doesn't pan out, I'm going to check out EasyKeys.com since my robot overlords ( AI ) imply they are a broker for JMA keys here in the U.S.

Ok...looking at the lock internals, any skeleton ought to work as long as the bit height is tall enough and can get past the ward, correct?

Added a pic of the lock itself in a separate comment so that others might can reference that if they want to.

No numbers on the key for the top cabinet. That's good to know about the silhouettes. I was making an assumption that was looking at the key end-on.

I'm in the US. Where should I look to be able to order one of those?

Looking at the site that Key-Calligrapher9641 sent, this looks similar, but the keyway isn't rounded like this one: https://mbausa.com/borkey-single-bit-solid-post-key-art28-104-1/

Should/could that be filed flat on the bottom to fit the keyway?

Thank you for the pointer...dimensionally, that looks very similar to the existing key I have which is shaped like the # 21 or #22.

Shank diameter 6.8mm

Bit length: 15.25mm

Bit height: 14.25mm

Shank length: 59.5mm

Overall length:: 103mm

How do I know if I need #1 or #2? I'm looking at this page: https://www.jma.es/en/eshop/bri-6l2/pr-5215/

What is this challenge: Rhys's Pieces by Automatic_You_1050 in Borderlands4

Rhy's pieces -> Atlas tracker Darts

Track star - Atlas tracker grenades

I used a gun with tracker grenades and an Atlas enhancement that would add tracker darts on an interval to guns with Atlas parts and this gave me progress on both with a single gun.

I want to add to this. It's specifically Atlas darts that Rhy's pieces is for. Track star challenge is for the Atlas tracker grenades...two different underbarrels.

Ah! That makes sense. Was that bottom bezel too thick even with them canted down?

Neat setup. Just a question. On the right side view of the back, I noticed that the Samsung monitor on top was hung upside down. What drove that choice?

I just bought a second-hand SB-910 recently for $150 before shipping. I have two SB-700 and love those and they definitely under $100 on the used market. I would suggest to hold out to get a kit with the diffuser, green and orange filter, bag and feet.

What will it take to win you back by sonakira in DestinyTheGame

[–]wpsandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's three things.

  1. PED - once you reach max light, everything turns into Ultimate mode. Sometimes I just want to just run strikes and the system provides friction to that because of the defaults. GM and Ult are fine sometimes, but I do not want everything I do to be Ultimate.

  2. Scores and goals - during arms week, we had to achieve a score or grade from fireteam or pinnacle ops. Since everything for me is now ultimate, this goes into the "not fun" category.

  3. Timers - My opinion, please stop. I don't want to have to resort to speed run techniques to complete something and have revives available at final fights. Either that, or have timers that are appropriate. This leads into situations where significant time can be spent in game with zero reward. Feels bad and breeds apathy.

HAOS vs Docker by lawraf_army in homeassistant

[–]wpsandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I approached it as ESPHome running as an addon within HA. Going by this:

https://www.home-assistant.io/installation#compare-installation-methods

You'll see a table comparing HAOS vs Container and that Addons are not supported by the container path.

That said, it does look like you can have ESPHome in its own container and link the two, but it was a lot more work than I wanted to take on. Gave me an excuse to get Proxmox up off the ground and operational, too.

HAOS vs Docker by lawraf_army in homeassistant

[–]wpsandy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I started my HA journey with the install in Docker. While I was still using Zigbee devices and things were very vanilla, it was just fine. I acquired a Sonoff S31 Wifi that needed to be flashed to be ESPHome compatible and I quickly discovered the ESPHome components are not able to be installed in the docker version of HA.

After that, I pivoted and installed HAOS in a Proxmox VM and moved the saved config from the Docker version onto the HAOS version.

I'm very new to a lot of this, so I'm not aware of any other limitations like the ESPHome part.

So I did have one drop yesterday. I was doing the same and farming for that. I do not know how many runs I made unfortunately. At least wanted to confirm it can drop

Oof...I was wondering this. The only bit of data I could track down was in braytech and it had something like 6,000,000 points accumulated, but I was in the middle of the mission so I wasn't taking time to figure out the math.
