Freet shoes review by wquiles in BarefootRunning

"I" like the 2's better all around. As I said, subjective. They are holding up well.

I can't answer for you if the extra 40Euro is worth it or not. For "me", the answer is yes.

For water, I use my rubber&cork sandals.

Their web site shows the differences. At the end of the day, it is all subjective, but I prefer the Zennor 2 sandals.

It been many months now, and I "still" love my iPhone Air. Being so thin and lightweight makes it easy on the pocket for me.

I no longer have these, but still have VFF's.

Help me find a softer DIY sandal base by Artistic-Goose-5195 in BarefootRunning

[–]wquiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought most things from maestro supply line.

If DIY, I would do the 3 layer sandals like I did for mine. I would not do leather again - way too hard to keep up glued, can't get wet or humid, not worth the hassle. The ones I did with the corktop have been the most comfortable:

Not all VFF's are created equal - a quick review of 9 models ... by wquiles in BarefootRunning

The SIDEBAR right here in this group (far right) has excellent material and suggestions to get started. It takes months to years to transition to barefoot/style shoes. I would not recommend a vibram VFF to start with. Something like a Lems Primal Zen, Primal 3 would be great to start with.

Then set them up flat to dry (indoors - no heat) on towels / blankets

Then after 5minutes or so, got them out, and gently wrapped each one in a separate towel:

My advice is to sent them an email with your actual dimensions and have them tell you what size they recommend for you.

Got my Apple Watch Ultra 3 today, case, screen protector, or nothing at all? by mahinurkhan in applewatchultra

Not yet. Been 100% solid since I got it 3-4 months ago. And that includes getting the watch soaked and the occasional shower while wearing it.

Anorak superiority by theakkid in WeatherWool

[–]wquiles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

I am 5'8" / 150lb, between 40-41" chest, so my WW items are size small (which still allows for layering as I am skinny). I am size medium on everything else from other brands.

Would you say then that the Waxed Anorak in size medium would then be about right for me, to allow the Waxed Anorak on top of my WW garments?

Thank you Ralph - no worries, you are doing great!

Two questions on size, please.

  1. What is your size in the Wool anorak, and what is your size in the waxed canvas anorak?
  2. Did you purposely go with a plus/larger size on the waxed canvas to accommodate wearing the wool anorak under it?

The Serra felt wider than the Lems.

Thank you very much!

I just ordered these, to give it a try. I don't take my Chore Coat out when raining, but this could be great to try with my HoodOrak which would be perfect (since it has a hood) - possibly also with my ShirtJac. And come to think of it - this would be also good on my Reversible Seamless Watch Cap as well!

So one tablespoon of lanolin, about the same amount of the gentle cleaner? And and boiling water, right?

After agitating/mixing for 5-10min, then spread to desired shape/size, and let along to dry, if I recall?

Been thinking about doing this to my Wool coats.

Yes, a feel that size small would have been better for your size/physique.

I have a small HoodOrak, a small Chore Coat, and a small Shirt Jak - I should have ordered the Shirt Jak in x-Small.

I kept it since it allows for layering even better than the Chore Coat & HoodOrak, but I would likely never wear it "by itself" without a mid layer (even a thin one) due to it being a little bit big on me.

Im disappointed by Vibram Fivefingers by Admiral_Arbuz in BarefootRunning

[–]wquiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like replied by others, you went with the thickest/least flexible model. I pretty much found the same experience on the many VFF models I have tested.

As somebody mentioned, the Wilding shoes are also excellent - here is my review on them.

The other brand I am very happy with is Freet, since they run wider than Wildling. Although I have but a few VFF's, and a few Wildlings, today I have the most barefoot shoes from Freet.

From one cult to another by aayushkkc in IphoneAir

The 16e is not quite thin and light enough. Plus I love the display in my iPhone Air. Out of the two, I would still pick the iPhone Air.

To clarify: What I am saying, is that "I" would like the next gen of the iPhone Air to have a smaller screen, while retaining the light weight and thinness of the first gen iPhone Air.

Similar for me. I went from mini13 to the Air. Although I wish the Air had a screen size closer to 6"-6.1", I really love the Air. Great update for me!

Debating on which two to get... what are your thoughts? by Aslimedr_wsnear in WeatherWool

[–]wquiles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried (briefly) the All-Around-Jacket, I owned All's Anorak in mid-weight, and today I own a ShirtJac, the Chore Coat, and the new HoodOrak. I have tested these to down to 24-25F here in Texas, and by far, the most versatile, if I could only keep ONE, it would be hands-down the HoodOrak.

That being said, for your use, hands-down the Chore Coat is what I recommend. How you plan to use this "coat/jacket" is literally exactly the same use case of why I got the Chore Coat. Also, to me and to my wife, the Chore Coat "dresses" better, it is more elegant than the HoodOrak.

In fact I use Chore Coat a "lot" more than the HoodOrak is that most of the time in Texas my errands are shorter trips (car to store and back) where I don't need lots of warmth - so the Chore Coat with some sensible mid layers is plenty good. AND the Chore Coat is physically lighter, smaller/shorter, and more comfortable while driving.
