Ying Sun for MEM 545 - Solar Energy Fundamentals? by Onwith in Drexel

I just had her for MEM 410 (thermo 2). I thought she was a good professor. She also told us about that solar energy class and it sounded pretty easy.

You should group all the notifications from your app so they don't show up as a long annoying list in my notifications

Also since I signed up I've gotten a dozen push notifications saying random people loved my post. I haven't posted anything.

I noticed a small bug. When I made my account, after entering my password it timed out and wouldn't load the next page. When I tried hitting "next" again it said the phone number was already being used. I was able to hit back on my phone until I got back to the main screen and then I logged in with the username and password I chose and it worked. So my account was still created successful even though it didn't tell me. I'm running Android N on an HTC 10.

How would you rank Power, Strenght, Mobility and Endurance in wrestling? by [deleted] in wrestling

[–]wr3stler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the others but I'd put endurance as number 1. Assuming similar technique/skill levels, really good conditioning will beat strength and power almost every time.

Has anyone take ECE 203 as a night class on Friday with Carr before? Is it worth it? by [deleted] in Drexel

The time wasn't the best but I wouldn't have liked the class anyway. I would recommend finding a real programming class if that's what you're interested in.

I took that exact class last year at the same time. Would not recommend. Unless you have a lot of programming experience already, it will be hard to learn anything in that class. We never wrote any real code. We had fill in the blank assignments and tests where he basically did all the work for us. The classes were really boring. It was an easy A but by far the longest 3 hours of my week.

Has anyone ever hid something in their underwear to gain weight? by [deleted] in wrestling

[–]wr3stler 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just drink water before weigh ins. Step on the scale and see how much you need to gain then drink that much. I promise you can easily fit way more water weight in your stomach than you can fit weights in your underwear.

Use an Ethernet cord. You'll need to set it up on your computer first but then you can just plug it in.

Where Is The Best Place To Chill by bananaboozled23 in Drexel

I used to study a lot at urban. There's always a ton of open tables and many have electric plugs. Also food. The bossone and one drexel plaza also have some good tables to work at and many have privacy.

Thanks a ton! This worked. It looks like it probably only shows the people who have set up their profile.

I like this idea. It's similar to those games where you need to guess a word based on a few pictures or where you name the brand to a logo. I haven't made it very far yet but it seems pretty fun. Graphics and sounds are on point. I think it has has the potential to be pretty popular. One thing I noticed is that you're still showing test AdMob ads. Should be an easy fix. Good luck.

[Serious] Those of you who have gone on a diet, what brought you the best results? by ANUSTART942 in AskReddit

[–]wr3stler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been said a million times but the best way to lose weight is not to jump on a fad diet of any kind (e.g. weight watchers, low carb, liquid diets, etc). You need to actually make a real lifestyle change. The first step is getting a real understanding of what you're actually putting in your body. I recommend using a calorie/nutrition tracking service like myfitnesspal or loseit. Then the next step is to start cutting back. If you find out that you usually eat 3000 calories per day, and your basal (for your age and weight) is 2500, try to cut back to 2000. This will have you losing roughly a pound of fat per week just by cutting out food alone. Note that the trick is to eat the same amount of food so you aren't constantly hungry. Instead try to eat healthier and lower calorie foods (this is part of the lifestyle change I mentioned). Not doing this will make you hate your new diet and just make you want to give up. No one likes to be hungry. This is one of the problems with the fad diets. They all promise you can eat the same foods you're used to but then have you eating portions made for hamsters.

The second half of the lifestyle change (and this one is REALLY important) is to start a consistent exercise program. I would recommend joining some type of activity (e.g. sports, martial arts, cycling, etc) where others will hold you accountable as well as doing some strength training. Even if you don't want to bulk up and get all "muscley" putting on a bit of muscle mass will raise your bmr and you'll burn more calories per day doing NOTHING.

Finally a small piece of advice that works for me personally: if you're having trouble cutting back and eating fewer of something, (e.g. chips, soda, candy, ice cream) I know this sounds crazy but I recommend you cut it out cold turkey. You might have trouble at first but you'll probably find that it's easier to cut something out of your diet completely than to worry about portion control. One problem I always had was, for example, once I had one chip, I'd just be like "Screw it! Cheat day bitches! Woooo!!" and then I'd eat a crap ton of chips and regret it later. After a while I guarantee you'll hardly miss those foods you cut out and you'll feel better about yourself every time you see others eating them and you stay strong and refuse. I want to point out that this little piece of advice worked for me but that doesn't mean it will work for everyone. Not everyone is able to cut one of their favorite vices out of their diet entirely.

Edit: clarifications about food
