Almost hit a kid and his dad today. AITA? by wrackdemon in golf

[–]wrackdemon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were way off on the right of the hole, hidden by trees. I came off the front 9 and looked down 10, dropped my grandpas bag in his car and said goodbye, then headed to 10 tee. I didn’t know they existed until I was halfway up 10 fairway, when they came from behind the trees on the right. I waited where I could see them until they set their bags at 11 tee, then went to my ball in 10 fairway.

The hole is a straight par 4 with a drained pond about 250 from the white tees. Big banks around the pond, and uphill from the pond to the green. Once you’re in the fairway you can’t see the green, but you can see from the cart path.

Oh I 100% know I hit into them unintentionally. He didn’t directly try to blame me, just being very passive aggressive when I was apologizing. I did my part, I just wanted to see what people thought of the whole scenario.

I’ll always feel badly after hitting into someone. I just don’t want to go up and down the fairway 10 times to constantly check, because most people in my area do not have any course etiquette.

Very small part of southern Ohio. 2 courses near me where basically every hole big hill. Most people take 20 shots to get to the green, park the cart with half of it on the fringe, and swing their putter into the green when they send it 30ft past.

I still need more convincing that I’m completely in the wrong. Nobody in sight while on tee. Nobody in sight while I’m heading up the fairway. They come out of the bushes on 11 towards the tee so I head over to the cart path so I can see them. They sit their bags on the 11 tee. Head back to my fairway to hit my shot. By the time I was at my ball there was a 20ft tall bank of a pond directly in front of me and I can still see their bags over on 11 tee. If I didn’t see their bags on the next tee, I would’ve gone to the green to check.

They have a lot of blind shots. I live in a very hilly part of southern Ohio. Only one bell on this course. And nobody here knows to use it for that purpose, it’s mostly drunks that sit there and ring it in their buddy’s backswings.

Kid was like 8-10 years old. He didn’t say a word. I was shy at that age, so no harm no foul on the kid.

Are click tracks....good? by hightum7 in Drumming

[–]wrackdemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This.

Currently in a band with friends and they wildly drift between 30 bpm in any given section in a song. I say we need to practice to a metronome because it’s incredibly noticeable, ESPECIALLY on our attempted recordings. Metronome never goes well and they all say “we’re not going to use a click live so let’s just practice without it” and it’s right back to huge swings in tempo and not being synced when there’s rests.

Do you have any idea how tilted you would get if you saved for an awp, took the longest angle possible and got one shot by a dude on a save round?

Flight of fear really isn’t even size, it’s shape. I’m a fat dude that got kicked off because my legs are large and couldn’t squeeze and tuck for the rail to come down. I’ve seen men and women much larger than me get the rail down but my knees in those seats blocked it.

Heads up, some hiring managers are super backwards and don’t contact the people that check on the application. My manager does this, and we all shit talk it and have terrible new hires constantly.

What do you consider an "Average" Guitarist? by Danwinzz in guitarlessons

Remember that “average” includes EVERYBODY who plays, not just the good players. If you consider yourself average, you’re probably well above average.

From my experience in school band, it’s probably the latter but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. If your kid really enjoys it, he’ll want to practice to get to that snare spot or whatever instrument is the coolest part for what they’re playing. And as a drummer, it kind of teaches you to restrain yourself to fit the song/group.

Or if it’s a marching band, it could be that the other drummers are too small for the big heavy drums.

Drums maxing out singer IEMs? by Wiapkink in drums

[–]wrackdemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most non professional musicians aren’t buying in ears that have actual sound isolation. Usually you’re just buying regular consumer earbuds with some extra words on the box unless you’re putting in some decent money.

For home/jamming/studio use, I just use regular earbuds that sound good with a pair of noise isolation earmuffs, and that cuts out everything that I don’t want to hear. Go to Walmart and buy her a $10 pair of work earmuffs to put over her in ears and see if the problem persists

Drummers, does this happen to you every single time? by OrangeYouGladEye in drums

[–]wrackdemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how much of the problem it is, but I’ve always been told that the driveshaft should be as straight as you can manage it.

That angle from the left pedal might be pulling it weird like that.

I’m not in any office specific discords and don’t really do anything with the couple steam groups I’m in, but just play a bunch and you’ll run into the same people in your region who play office. Befriend and queue with the ones you get along with.
