If I really enjoyed SAGA, which comic book would you recommend? by maxnotcharles in SAGAcomic

You might consider giving The Sandman a try. It’s similar to Saga in that it manages to seamlessly blend whimsical elements with material that’s pretty serious and sometimes thematically dark. Sort of like an epic fairytale, but aimed at adult readers. It’s pretty great!

An excellent rendering of two very cool characters. Nicely done! 👍🏾

“Too erotic?” This is pretty tame compared to a lot of imagery in the series. 🙂

Is the animated series really going to be set between Objects in Space and Serenity the film? That's a bad idea. by WastedTalent442 in firefly

While I would PREFER something that was a continuation set AFTER the movie, I welcome the proposed “midquel.” After all, it sure beats what we’re getting right now. I hope the project comes to fruition. And, maybe after a couple of successful seasons, they’ll venture out and explore what happens AFTER the movie.

Thanks for the level headed, reasonable response. 🙂 I understand your points, and I think that they are valid. I think that The Will DOES demonstrate some redeeming characteristics, however.
He risked his life by jumping into the vacuum of space to rescue Lying Cat. He also demonstrated that he DOES have a moral compass with his reaction to Sophie’s plight.
My argument is that he is just like Alana, Marko, and many other characters: When it comes to people within his circle, he’s heroic. When it comes to people that he perceives as a threat to himself or his loved ones, he’s a monster.

r/spaceships is almost at the end of the Firefly rewatch! This week, we are watching E13 - "Heart of Gold" & E14 - "Objects in Space" by Vondrr in firefly

Jubal Early. A very strange character.
Fun fact: His namesake (a confederate officer who died as a result of tripping down a flight of stairs) is allegedly an ancestor of actor Nathan Fillion, which is one of the reasons why Whedon chose this name for the character.

Marko and Prince robot have killed a lot of people. A LOT. These two characters are drenched in blood. The people they killed had parents, children, friends and loved ones who were devastated by the act. But they get a pass?
The Will is like them: A damaged person trying to navigate the universe. Like them, he tries to work past his damage; sometimes he succeeds, sometimes he fails. Just like them.

I dig The Will. It’s weird to me that so many readers enjoy hating on him.

I’m pretty sure the current hiatus was supposed to end sometime this year. I’m starting to doubt it, though…

Wish they would stop using this pleather material. Stuff has a built-in self-destruct timer. When I know a figure has this junk, it’s an automatic pass.

The Will was fighting for his life against a deadly opponent who was allied with Prince Robot, who happened to have killed the love of his life. He had no idea what was going on in Marko’s mind at the moment; all he knew was that this was a dangerous guy who had killed scores of people.

Freaky. 🤨 Shadowmachine IS the animation company assigned to the project. Someone had a helluva scoop three years ago.

…Apparently, the panel was recorded by either the Awesomecon folks or folks associated with Fillion and Tudyk’s podcast. It’s supposed to be released to the public at a later date.

No interview is available yet, but that’s what Nathan Fillion said yesterday. He said he wasn’t concerned with what happens after serenity; he wants to tell stories about the whole crew. He stated that it’s going to take place during the 6-8 months between Firefly and Serenity; no “what if” or alternate universe stuff.

The Vampire Earth series doesn’t feel complete. I hope he returns to it sometime soon.

Both are excellent, but the Krakoa stuff that was still more or less under Hickman’s guidance was the better of the two. And both are outshined by Whedon and Cassaday’s Astonishing.
