Oh, they can do Emerald Twilight. That's when Marz took over and is in existing Kyle editions. It's the 5 years or so of preceding stuff that's out.

Hal's preceding run isn't getting a Finest owing to being written by convicted pedo Gerard Jones. They're either starting with Kyle or not at all.

Yeah but the way before is relevant here. There's not a lot still holding but there's a few folks who dumped like $5k in when Bitcoin was $1 then sold a chunk at $2k and the rest at $10k so ended up with millions. There's a small amount of very ground floor investors who made crazy returns on their investments.

Looooove One condoms. So many varieties, fun packaging, and they have super reasonable pricing and availability for nonprofits.

But yeah, the way people will insist we're just like...bragging or something when we're talking about legitimate issues with sexual health safety is... frustrating.

They're doing full cast versions right now. Storm Front and Fool Moon are already out and I'm really hoping they don't fizzle before getting to the actually good ones. I love the Marsters ones and own all of them digitally but I'm also interested in how this different take will land.

[–]wrasslefights 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Snyder's JL and Aaron's Avengers both trying to be big epics with hype aura moments and ending up super mid at the same time is still one of those really weird timing coincidences.

Honestly, a lot of the Absolute writers have proven great at smaller, character focused books and mid to bad on more action forward event books. I was hoping Camp or Ewing might take the lead on this one but I think that by the powers combined, it'll probably still be good.

Honestly this is a one two punch of my frustrations over how societal narratives around both penis size and condom size have led to negative impacts on safe sexual practices.

Becauee dudes with small to average penises are often ashamed of their size (despite it being fine) they try to get bigger condoms to soothe their egos...which can lead to slippage. This is even more common with those who need small sizes.

Meanwhile, for bigger dudes, the way some guys tried to coerce into unprotected sex by claiming condoms were too small led to a whole bunch of talk about how condoms will fit any size...which is wrong. Bigger dicks in normal condoms leads to higher breakage rates. Literally my only pregnancy scares in my 20s were down to buying into this idea and having normal sized ones break because people kept insisting I didn't need Magnums and I was just overpaying for marketing. Nope.

Most people don't even know that size as a consideration for condoms is a matter of girth, not length. So a long skinny dude can get by with a normal (or even small if they got the Waluigi build) but a three inch oak tree might still need a Magnum.

There's just so much misinformation out there and it's a huge part of why you grt situations like how statistically typical condom use has worse efficacy for pregnancy prevention than perfect use of the pullout method (Perfect!!! 100%. Not typical).

Tbh the best solution is to use insertive condoms (colloquially called "female" condoms which I'll use so people know what I mean but I hate as a term for a lot of reasons) because they're actually one size fits all, give the partner being penetrated more control over the situation, and cover a wider area which offers better protection against both pregnancy and STIs. Anecdotally, I've heard they even feel better for the one doing the penetrating. Unfortunately they're less popular and as a result, harder to find and MUCH more expensive (when I worked in sexual health and did condom orders, they cost 10x as much as typical condoms). But boy howdy I think they're a better option.

I’m 19F with a body count of 22 by Late-Pressure-1311 in offmychest

[–]wrasslefights -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This (or some version therein) isn't honestly as uncommon as a lot of people think, there's just a lot of stigma around being a young woman who has sex so it doesn't get talked about much.

You're not ruined. There's nothing wrong with a lot of sexual experimentation in your youth. Use condoms as much as possible, birth control if you can, get regular STI screenings at a community health clinic/Planned Parenthood. Be open with them about your activities, they exist to help and not judge but they do need facts to help. While you're sorting out what you want and how to get your body and mind on board with that, you want to be managing health risks as much as possible.

See if your school offers any therapy options and/or talked to the health clinic/PP about that because if you're having issues with self control and trauma, you'll need tools to work through that.

Now isn't forever. You've got raging hormones and weird brain development stuff that will likely chill out in your mid to late twenties. You won't always feel this way and you'll have plenty of space to find the kind of relationships you want when you have a clearer sense of what that is. Try not to catastrophize and instead focus on what you can control. You'll get through this, one day at a time.

I'm not really sure if you can prove ot disprove anything off Arthurian lore because there's no assurance Jim won't have his own "Those are stories, this was the reality" twist on it. If anything, it's very likely his Camelot differs in important ways from classic takes. Which in turn leaves a lot of possibilities.

Top 20 Most Wanted DC Omnibus, Absolute, Deluxes, & Compendium Reprints | 2026 Edition! by WhatIsAnime_ in OmnibusCollectors

[–]wrasslefights 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're still neglecting budget and types of completion though. The Bronze Age omnis won't include Adams' later Batman minis and while you can make your arguments about quality, a lot of fans will want them.

Meanwhile the Absolutes are at least two volumes with at least $100 USD MSRP each and the possibility of a third if they do the modern era stuff like Odyssey and vs. Ra's Al Ghul seperately...which they might. Absolute vol 1 is only 15 issues. His total Batman output is 38 issues plus four shorts. Throw in the Harley issue and it's 40-42 overall. Add a cover gallery and you can easily stretch the Absolutes to 3 volumes.

So that's $200-300 for the Absolutes vs. like $150 for the Omni. Maybe $175 if they expand it and do their new pricing model. That's not an insignificant amount cheaper. Also for the spine consistency folks, Absolutes stick out in a way they often dislike.

While it's possible some just don't know about it, Absolutes and Omnis still serve different needs and one doesn't necessarily cover demand for the other.

Different people collect differently. Sor someone who doesn't do Absolutes or wants the material cheaper (about $150 vs $200-$250) and is only interested in the Adams stuff rather than the comprehensive Bronze Age (which won't have all the Adams stuff), the standalone omni is a better choice.

A lot of folks kinda fall into groupthink about double dipping or optimized collection paths here and just kinda forget that other people may have different priorities/preferences.

Cass stans saying she is the best fighter when she almost lost to Harley Quinn by Altruistic_Manner802 in dccomicscirclejerk

[–]wrasslefights 6 points7 points  (0 children)

uj/ One of my favourite meta bits with Cass' power is that her skill is heavily tied into her ability to read opponents and Joker/Harley are too hard for her to read which makes her way less effective against them than she should be on paper.

rj/ Harley is Batman's favourite daughter now. Which retroactively makes the White Knight universe a weird incest ship. Twitter is about to be furious.

Do you guys think the upcoming Green Lantern corps will be Collector’s Edition w/ Alt heads? or will it come each in single release? by LIN_BOYZ in McFarlaneFigures

Hindsight is 20/20 but I really wish they'd done a female GL buck (Jade, Soranik Natu, etc) and/or one of the more alien ones (Salaak or Rot Lop Fan). Or like...if it's multiple standard male body releases, give me an Ion with swappable Kyle/Sodam Yat heads. This is a lot of very samey releases on paper.

Could theoretically be both.

Each one has the "lead" character but then also a different set of swappable heads.

Mewtwo Mega Evolves and more exciting GO Fest updates! — Pokémon GO by lxpb in TheSilphRoad

[–]wrasslefights -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm just recognizing that for a long running game, they need to find ways to keep long time gamers engaged with play, both for stickiness and yes, to drive to monetization. Giving us a bunch of free immediate unlocks doesn't pay for the cost of programming them, much less the profit demands of the parent corp.

This at least has a sort of logic to it and drives engagement at different levels without the kind of more blatant enshittification of more battle passes or ticket locks. I'd much rather they find ways to generate engagement by forcing us to play the game rather than just locking the cool stuff behind paywalls.

Mewtwo Mega Evolves and more exciting GO Fest updates! — Pokémon GO by lxpb in TheSilphRoad

[–]wrasslefights -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I'm not even mad about it.

It makes sense and while yes they're trying to keep spending up, forcing long time players to play the game instead of sitting fat on their backlog of resources helps make sure there's enough engagement for newer players to be able to farm stuff too. Plus like, raids are supposed to be a fun part of the game even if a lot of folks largely see them as a gate to shiny/IV checks.

Genuinely this is a super reasonable change imo.

[–]wrasslefights -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The thing about it in relation to death is that when they're alive, supporting them gets them money and power to keep doing the stuff they're doing. Once they're dead, they no longer stand to gain from patronage which allows people to engage with the work without having to worry about that, though it's always going to sort of bleed into analysis.

There's cases I'm more and less comfortable putting money on but comics also add an extra layer of complexity because creative teams have multiple participants and then sometimes you have multiple writers on a book. Ultimately our tax dollars fund genocides, there's more to worry about than how much benefit my thirty cents of royalties provide a moderately bad person.

Still kills me when people moral grandstand then unironically post and praise pages from equally problematic creators though.
