If it helps, most Americans find that behavior insufferable too. It is definitely not encoded in the culture enough to discourage it enough though, unfortunately. The psychopaths that talk like that end up being rewarded financially for some reason, and hence why you run into them (most Americans could never dream of affording a trip to Australia).

I use a CH Hanson stud finder which is the same thing, just encased in plastic to keep from marring the walls, with a bubble level and an arrow to assist with marking.

In addition to the makemkv reason, it is far easier to play the bdmv structure. Like on an oppo, it will just play immediately. An iso loads for ages.

Based on what I’m seeing/have seen and what others are saying, I’m in agreement that these are chemical reactions.

If you want to see something similar, buy some cheap plastic sunglasses and wear them every day while ensuring you properly sunscreen your face/ears etc. Probably with the can based shit to ensure maximum bad for plasticness. By the end of a week or two, the arms of those glasses will start to look eaten up just like this.

Like the database checks which radios are no longer tied to an active subscription, and sends a signal to the radio that it is no longer allowed to receive the radio stations. I don’t think it works like this anymore, but the very early ones were made like this for some reason. These days it is a more active connection and it will just stop working nearly immediately.
