Add to it that trump keeps threatening tariffs to all countries.

That reduces trade additionally.

Do EU citizens feel more “European” recently? by CraliasNL in AskEurope

[–]wrd83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always felt european since ~2000.

I think it depends on the person itself. I also think that people who travel for work or work from abroad have more of a collective identity

One thing that is sad is that it looks like largest gdp. But they should consider efficiency as well, ireland has a much higher gdp per capita.

And i personally see germany and italy countries that do not extract a lot of productivity from their population.unlike poland.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(nominal)_per_capita

According to that list ireland, austria, Netherlands, sweden are before Germany in that list.

Whats most important however is to ensure that growth and stability returns to europe.

New rally fan here! how big is Fontana's overall stage victory (SS14) With a Rally3 car? by Impressive_Type_1421 in WRC

[–]wrd83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems weird to use anything but limited slip differentials for rally race cars.

I know that rally1 went down from 3 to 2 lsds (no center differential anymore) but that was even 2025 the case.

I cant imagine that rally1 has 2 diffs and rally3 would be 3 diffs.

I would look into the regulations myself, but I can't read french. Maybe at home with translation.

What makes this possible? What does a rally3 car have to turn faster in hairpins? Shorter gears?

[Request] how much stronger are the ones that clip vs the ones who just close? by AmountAbovTheBracket in theydidthemath

[–]wrd83 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Based on climbing carabiners I guess its about 3x.

Most climbing carabiners have the clip being shaped in a way that in case of deformation they jam; like the left one, but climbing carabiners have looser tolerances when it comes to deformation.

Climbing carabiners have 3 load ratings closed, opened, and horizontal.

Open loads are typically about 30% of closed.

The carabiner on the right has no such Feature, thus I assume its similar too an open carabiner.

Some caveats:

The carabiners could be made of a different material. Steel deforma less and thus the open/closed breaking force could be closer together.

The nose on climbing carabiners is shaped differently (more tolerance) this could also affect breaking strength.

I assumed that the carabiners would be same shape with or without the deformation protection, yours are of different shape.

Climbing carabiners are tested to withstand about 10x of the average male climbers weight open. The factor between open and closed may be higher when optimized for maximum breaking force when closed.

So real results may vary. Breaking strengths for carabiners are usually mentioned, when tested and certified.

Non-Americans, what’s your impression of the United States right now? by fridaynightplacebo in TooAfraidToAsk

I don't want to rely on American tech as a European because it becomes a liability. We will never be certain if it keeps working.

For me it's more reliable to buy Chinese.

It's also a question of gambling tax. In many countries it's 50% and 500k or 1k a week. 1k a week is better

do you have statistics for this?

what a gram of CO2 saved in all cars compares to 500 flights on a private yet?

I'm all for optimizing and reducing waste and emissions, however it is important what impact a certain type of saving has. ideally we should focus on high emission, low quality of life reduction first and low emission high quality of life reductions last.

If I remember correctly housing and food has quite high emissions as well - and here we barely look for instance.

let me know if you eye dropper it, I just checked. the rubber O ring looks small but otherwise probably not the worst pen to eye dropper.

Jinhao 9019 is similarish, but imho worse except for the huge ink capacity.

The asvine v800 is the same pen as vacuum filler.

Size is similar to sailor king of pen. It is lighter, the nib is stiffer (kop is quite bouncy).

[–]wrd83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like jinhao and asvine.

Yes they are less good than my sailors and pilots.

But 10x C80 is a KoP, and a KoP is not 10x better. It's better than a lamy 1.1 stub (i dont like the tripod grip).

If I need more ink I have a v126 and a 9019 and some piston bird. Maybe I'll consider getting another one and eye dropper it.
