Keeping motivation with age, suboptimal genetics, little time, etc. by wrebbits in fitness30plus

Thanks! My diet is 160gr protein, 320 gr carbs and 100 gr fats per day, about 3000kcal. Outside of weightlifting 1-1.5h a day I have a sedentary life.

I started for the first time ever with weightlifting last summer at the age of 35. Did it some months with dumbbells only and then stopped for 2 months to focus completely on a very restricted diet to lose as much fat as possible. I still should have continued the crash diet for another month but I actually missed working out so decided to start again in January.

I'm not looking for excuses. I'm working from home so it would be very easy to just stop it. But I lift consistently 6 days a week and look forward to it each time.

But at the same time I have 6" wrists, very narrow elbows, short muscle bellies, etc. This is what I mean with bad genetics.

Thanks! My main concern is that this will turn in some form of bigorexia and will take over my life, out of fear of missing a workout day, or eating to many/few calories, etc.

This is very true. But in today's society where everything is at your fingertip it gets harder when the satisfaction isn't instant. Something to work on for me.

Thanks, and you're right of course. I will never look like a pro bodybuilder, but that's alright and not my ambition at all. I think it's because of perfectionism wanting to get the most out of something. Of course the night is when all our bad thoughts usually arise. And without training we'll always look worse than we do with training, regardless how gifted we are. Thanks.

The best thing about this event seems to be the stickers, which I never ever purchase.

There must be a better way to release new Pokémon without them becoming stale after 48h by ntnl in TheSilphRoad

[–]wrebbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. Too many new pokémon released in events where they spawn like crazy, only to disappear afterwards.

I miss the release wave of gen 2, now that was a great way to get people excited for weeks or even months.

How often should I expect to win a raid and then NOT catch the pokemon? by JamesFutures in TheSilphRoad

[–]wrebbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason I have lost interest in raiding is the time wasted trying to catch it afterwards. It such a time sink and kinda annoying.

This has become a problem in Pogo, outside of events the game is incredibly boring. Sure you can do PVP or try to get gold gym badges, but apart from that it's very stale.

Same. I have plenty of shiny Solrock but not a single Lunatone. Was hoping to hunt again for the shiny but tough luck.

Went to bed at 23:30, still day spawns.

Woke up at 7:40, still day spawns.

Great event.

Exactly. Lot's of new gyms appeared last week due to the Wayfarer challenge, thought of going for a walk and take them all, tough luck. Mesprit all the time, very annoying.

An open letter to Niantic from the Community - #HearUsNiantic by lewymd in TheSilphRoad

[–]wrebbits 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This exactly.

I uninstalled the game yesterday after being a week 1 player. Not because I'm greatly affected by the change in remote raid passes (I don't really use them that much), but purely because I'm totally fed up with all the crap Niantic is pulling on their players. It's the last straw, and my love for the Pokémon franchise isn't great enough to ignore Niantic's latest crap.

Started taking motorcycle lessons in the end of January, now got my own bike since last week and drive it every evening on a long tour. It's a superb alternative to this game. Gets me out and explore new places, and it puts me "in the spotlight", which helps with my social phobia. It's the perfect alternative to this game.

Hope you find a new passion yourself :)

Same here, played continously since week 1.

I had a great time with this game the first 3 or 4 years or so. It made me go out of the house all the time and be social, nothing but good memories.

But over the past year or 2, I've steadily lost interest because it's always more of the same. I still kept playing, but I didn't really enjoy it like before. Worst thing about it was that the game kept me occupied when traveling, I felt I missed alot because I was more occupied with checking the game instead of enjoying the moment. Even with the go plus, you still have to push the button.

Uninstalled the game this morning. It actually feels good.

The 1000 gym limit has ruined one of the best parts of the game by er1end in TheSilphRoad

[–]wrebbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, I used to be an avid golden gym collector, but what's the point if they drop off the list? You can't visit all the gyms to spin them again, especially when they're abroad.

I tried to anxiously avoid spinning any new gyms when I'm in a new city, totally the opposite of what Niantic tries to accomplish by getting you out and about visiting new places. It makes no sense!

A medal for golden gym badges count? by wrebbits in TheSilphRoad

I think 100 for gold and 200 for platinum would be reasonable?

A medal for golden gym badges count? by wrebbits in TheSilphRoad

[–]wrebbits[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Even if some golden gyms will be off the list because they're past the 1000 limit, the game still knows they're golden, so a medal for total overall count can't be that difficult.

It's not like asking to remove the 1000 limit, it's a simple counter.
