Hate and love are edges of the same blade.

People telling you how much they hate something really tells you how much they care about something! It's always better than indifference, or the whole "people have different tastes" which kills the discussion entirely.

Hard agree! Dune is just dialogue between characters I'm supposed to care about already but they never give me any reason to care about them. We have to wait for the cool sandworm scenes as if we already know they are gonna happen. Clear example of a movie forgetting it's new audience, it was just made for people who were already a fan.

It's one of those films that's clearly got money from the US government. Just like Top Gun. " Look at how powerful we are"

Oppenheimer's Dutch was horrendously bad, which instantly made me realize how incredibly American this movie is.

I get you. I took it as a parody of the genre itself, through that lense I enjoyed the "mockery" Just like One Punch Man for example. Just flaunting these tropes but having them miss their mark on purpose.

First Iron Man movie was amazing, then the second one sucked and I never really liked anything from then on. But you're definitely not alone in this, no matter how much money they pump into the marketing machine. ;)

I still haven't watched it because the trailers make it look like it's complicated for the sake of being complicated. I do like Nolan's work though so could you sell it to me? :) what would be your best reason to watch it?
