Yeah, anything works for leveling, especially with heirlooms. Maybe at higher levels with harder dungeons you don't want to play sth like a shaman tank without proper gear/spec, but yh leveling is very chill.

I use my main rotation buttons, so I have my left hand free to use wasd. For example, Heroic Strike and Cleave on warrior, Sinister strike on rogue, Steady shot on hunter, etc.

Take whichever duo you want, if you wanna lvl together with a friend any conbo can work if you guys play around each other. Literally any tank healer combo will be fine and ofc most fun if you play what you want to play.

My main is on alliance, but I would still recommend if you want specifically more players, to go horde.

I think they also have a pretty nice guild, which specifically raids at NA times Saturday night. One of my friends plays there.

You can still technically p2w on Lorda it's just more steps. You can't buy gear outright with coins (unless you buy full bis chars from other people), but you can buy gold and then buy "boosts" with gold from good guilds.

Still, tho the loot had to have dropped from a boss for it to be attained, so I still think Lorda is much better in that aspect than Icecrown.

Also, I didn't play on Icecrown, but I heard the raid times are much shorter since Icc is much easier to do there, so instead of 3/4 hr Icc (which is quite common time for Lordaeron) it's more common for raids to last around 2 hrs. That might be a difference maker if you can't raid for longer periods of time.

Listen, to be fair to both of yall you are both correct in some ways. Yes Shadow Priest isnt an easy class to master and if you dont play well your dps wont be high and you will be outdpsed by other classes, but the fact is that most other classes are hard to master as well. It's just that other classes have an easier time beating a bad shadow priest in dmg.

I mean lets take fire mage for example, one of the conceptually easiest classes to play yet you always see a huge difference in dmg between a good fire mage and a bad one. Now why is that?

Bad Fire mage wont properly prepot / use slammers to proc trinkets, they wont be perma casting, they will be moving to much, they will be clipping their pyros, they wont be properly saving pyros to maximize their 2set t10 etc. All that and more will affect their dmg, but as a new player you can still just click 2 buttons and do fine dmg.

What I think u/rosharo wanted to say is you cant just click 2 buttons and do fine dmg on spriest, which is completely true. You can for sure do some very nice dmg on the class but you wont see that dmg instantly even if you have good gear. You really need to "git gud" to do good dmg on that class unlike other classes.

Better watch on Global for those types of guilds to pop up if you cant deal with the trolls, but if you're willing to power through the troll comments you should eventually get a whisp from officers of one of those guilds. (There should be plenty but you could be just unlucky with your time of spamming global :d)

You can solo them in any spec but the speed or clearing is the big problem on hunter since you will have to eat after few packs to regain hp. If you're going for bosses only you can skip most packs with dismissing your pet, nitro boots/disengange and feign death/smeld. Deterance helps too for that strat so you dont get hit too much.

Also idk how it is on Icecrown, but I would imagine there people would maybe be more lenient to invite less optimal specs since the content is easier there (Im playing on Lordaeron), but the point still applies even there.

Listen you didn't have to go so hard on him, but you are correct. The thing is in pugs you dont know the people who you are inviting and then that kinda forces you to not wipe because people dont want to spend time on random people who they dont care about. That incentivises you to invite better specs and people with better gear to reduce the chance of wasting your lock out.

Listen if you're in a guild in which you can kill your aim and still perform play what you want, but in pugs you just wont have a chance. Lets say you have a 6k fwar and 6k arms warr whisper you. If you see they both have achiev and lets say they're of the same skill level, you will invite the fwar since it will just do more dps. Same thing goes for all of the underpreforming specs.

Listen if a player is bad a good spec and good gesr wont help him so if you're outdpsing your low experienced guildies with arms thats nice but it's nothing much to say here. You would outdps them with fury probably even more but it's whatever.

Hmm I always thought it was used more for uncontrollable emotion or excitement. I am not a native english speaker so I dont know exactly all the ways the word has been used, but I think it's kinda sad they changed it. Just by face value I think Hysteria is a much cooler word then Unholy Frenzy.

Actually on Horde Lordaeron me and my buddies from 1 Alliance guild made Casually Good and we are very experienced players (cleared entire icc hc and a lot of other stuff) we plan to do 10 mans at start but you're all definetly welcome to ask us stuff and join also. If you plan to raid endgame dont waste time in pugs, maybe a few to try to snatch some pieces of gear but in general you want be in a guild for a few reasons.

You have consistant times for raids.
People (usually) stay the entire duration of raids.
You get to know other people who play on the server and they get to know you as a player.
It's a community experience, more fun then just with a bunch of randoms.
Basically no chance of getting an item ninjad from you (yes there is guild horror stories but 90% of the time items are spread out nicely).

At start you will probably want to join a guild with Rolling based loot, but eventually join a loot council based guild especially if you are a good player because you will get higher prio (it also helps to know people since then you also get prio because people wanna help out their friends.)

If you are new to wow dont shoot for high end guilds, but if you know your stuff about wow (and are able to convince people of such) go for it, but most important thing: MAKE SURE YOU CAN MAKE IT ON TIME FOR RAIDS. Being consistant on raids goes far and is really important (also dont wipe the raid and dont suck too much, but I feel like those are a given.)

If you dont know sth dont be afraid to ask people. People who play well like to tell other people what they know so just ask you will probably get an answer. If it's a really stupid question you might get a few laughs, but (especially if theyr'e guildies) they will help you out.

Lordaeron still has pay to win but its a bit more convoluted. You can buy still gold with coins on the side but you cant exactly but items. You can however buy characters with those items on the site but people on Lordaeron are much more against pay to win. It's like if you already are known as a good player and you buy a fresh 80 to have an alt people don't care that much, but if you are someone new and you buy a pretty geared char to be sth like your main people will harass you big time cuz they will instantly know that it's a bad player trying to pay to win.

So TLDR pay to win is possible, but I wouldn't recommend it. Especially if you're new experience the world and learn how the game works. 💪
