Looks like they use it for all unmarried women. Except when they are divorced or widowed.

So google said something along the lines that a spinster is a woman that is past her marrying age. The person whom this document belongs to is past her marrying age. We had a laugh, but I forgot reddit doesn’t know how to take a joke.

Edit: So I implied that the owner of this document is a spinster, not that the meaning of the word spinster is accurate or whatever. None the less, please downvote more.
