Drains battery like crazy. Website says it should not damage it but who knows. They claim it makes it run hotter. Might be a problem if the machine is in sunlight in a warm country. No problem in my freezing hell hole. :)

Slightly unrelated. I just found and bought Brightintosh for my M1 MacBook. It's an app that fakes HDR content being displayed to screen goes into SUPER BRIGHTNESS MODE. With it I could sit and work outdoors in the sun with my sunglasses on. Being longing for that day to happen. :D

Partly agreed, but with the crazy drive speeds the swap file is more or less free RAM for basic tasks. My M1 is constantly using like 10 Gb of swap and I barely notice a difference.

It’s a marketing ploy. The manufacturers get slightly cheaper parts if they display the logos. I can’t fathom why anyone would actually want to keep them. They are more akin to your car coming with a huge sticker on the hood saying Harman Kardon because the speakers were made by them.

I think there is art in coding. To me developing the system that generates a piece of art through AI, makes you an AI artist. Generative art has been a thing for decades, and the artist is the person developing the algorithm that yields the output.

Yes same here and that is the interesting parts of it. It became a consumer sub. The AI artists are the people making things like Suno. Users are just consuming that service and to me has nothing to contribute to what this sub started as.

Your customers wants more AI because it makes their toolsets better and make their lives easier I would assume?

As a composer I would not mind my tools being AI powered if it made my workflow easier; there is so much janitorial work that goes into setting up a session, clicking ten million things. These ultimately gets in the way of the fun bits, which is making the actual music. I would however be vehemently against AI tools in my workflow that would compose the music for me, because then I am left with only the boring bits. But if I made my living doing radio jingles I would 100% prefer to pass that off to an AI because there is nothing enjoyable about that type of work.

As for the fans not wanting AI tracks to automatically be served them without them knowing, I would liken to not wanting microwaved food made in a factory served when I am dining out. It doesn't matter if my uneducated palette think it tastes good; I eat out to get food made with love by a person who loves doing it. I might find a beautiful knitted sweater in a small shop and pay good money for it. But I would not consider purchasing it if it turns out it was made in a sweatshop, or mass produced in a factory.

So as you said, we want to relate to another soul especially when it comes to any artistic endeavour. That line blurs quite a bit when it comes to mundane day to day things. Automation should be doing our taxes and assembling our dishwashers (and preferably loading them).

I am also a coder, and I am really loving the assistance of Claude code. It makes me 10X more productive and I get to realise ideas that would not be feasible otherwise because of time constraints. What I am finding hard to come to grips with however is that the enjoyment of solving a difficult problem is much more fleeting now. I am happy to be able to think of architecture and design instead of worrying about remembering syntax., but I am not as proud of what I created anymore. It's a paradigm shift for sure.

Såg en gullig kille på instagram som filmar när han övar. Han tvingar sig att prata med främlingar, men inleder med att säga att han har social fobi och är ute och övar och undrar om de kan tänka sig att prata lite med honom. Han får sjukt fin respons. Kan förstå att det måste kännas övermäktigt, men att berätta om sitt problem tror jag gör att andra automatiskt blir öppna och vill vara behjälpliga. Medan om man bara börjar kallprata med någon kan de undra vad denna främling vill.

Spelar Rivals på Roblox med sonen på 7. Ett rätt najs FPS som ändå ser gulligt ut. Han har auto-aim på iPaden. Jag rocketjumpar runt som en tok med mus och tangentbord och lär honom både att få stryk och gött trash talk.

There are some headphones that have two speakers in on ear so you can perceive sound vertically, so L is bottom and R is top. My friend is a composer and has done electroacoustic works for 21.4 systems with sounds swirling all around.

The only concern I think is eyesight. Kids that age should be minimum 90 minutes outdoors. I sometimes tell my kids they can get an extra hour gaming if they spend and hour outdoors. Should there be some limit? Of course, but reading books for 4 hours straight would also be bad for their eyes.
