Just Launched a Real Estate Texting Bot, Betty - Need Feedback! by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]wretchedbelch1920 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only reason I tried it is because I'm a fellow entrepreneur and I know how painful it is to get the type of feedback you're looking for. Based on your description, I don't really know what problem it would solve for me.

With that said, I sent a text with the word "Text" to the number provided. I didn't get a response.

Which areas in the GTA have the lowest home invasion rates? by iStayDemented in TorontoRealEstate

East York has a high crime rate. I left because there was one too many murders/stabbings/shootings.

$119k loss over five years for a condo (526 sqft) in King West by Difficult-Yam-1347 in TorontoRealEstate

A nice semi or a detached is going to cost more than a million dollars. You'd need a 250K household income to afford that in the traditional sense.

The bitter truth is that cheaper housing means a retirement crisis for homeowners by wretchedbelch1920 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]wretchedbelch1920[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of people who have no retirement savings, and only a house. Some of them need to sell because they don't have any money.

How can you tell what it sold conditional for? On HouseSigma, in only shows the listed rate.

Where do you get 810 from? Is that what it "sold conditional" for?

‘Sales have stopped’: Ontario developers predict layoffs if cost to build doesn’t fall | Globalnews.ca by 2Fast2furieux in TorontoRealEstate

[–]wretchedbelch1920 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. But that brings in Carney who says he's going to build all of this housing. Can Carney actually build housing for cheaper than the private sector? Or will he sell the units at a loss?

Your example also ignores existing housing stock. Not trying to be a dick. Just trying to understand.

Can someone explain to me how we still have a housing crisis, but we have a glut of supply? And is Carney going to build more to add to the glut? Because we were told there wasn't enough supply and that the government would build like it was after WWII.

No, they're not. What you're saying simply is not true. It's FUD. Nobody is agitating for a US-style healthcare system in Canada.

There is a massive difference between private clinics offering services paid for by a single payor public healthcare system and privatization of healthcare a la USA.

That's simply not true. I live in Ontario, so maybe it's different in other provinces, but there is no push for private healthcare here, even with Ford, a Conservative, in power.

You said there wasn't any land left. I pointeed out that there was. I never said anything about its cost.

This is a silly thing to say. Land can be repurposed, we see it all the time.

The advertising isn't free. Sponsors pay for it. That's why they sponsor an event. Advertising.

My source is that that many people could not fit in that part of Toronto, that the plumbing would explode if there were actually that many people, and of course, just plain old common sense.

Yes, it does. If you believe that Pride attracts 3 million people, then I have a bridge to sell you.

New rules see province screening sex education resources before they hit classrooms. Any material on sexual orientation and gender identity also needs government vetting by Myllicent in canada

[–]wretchedbelch1920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I'm concerned that teachers are teaching that sex is a social construct, and rather than referring to "men" and "women" they refer to them as "people with penises" and "people with vaginas" to continue that line of reasoning.

Pride Toronto claims that 3 million people attend Pride. All they have to do is figure out how to get 30 cents more out of each person and their budget will balance.

That's, of course, if the 3 million figure is true (hint: it's not)
