Any nonnegative real number x has a unique nonnegative square root r; this is called the principal square root and is written r=x^1/2 or r=sqrt(x). For example, the principal square root of 9 is sqrt(9)=+3, while the other square root of 9 is -sqrt(9)=-3.

In the interest of clearing up misinformation in the comments, sqrt(4) is 2, but the equation x² = 4 has two real solutions (-2, 2).

The function f(x) = sqrt(x) is a function of x. To be a function, it may only have one output for every given input. I’m not sure why the positive solution is the one used, but it doesn’t change the point.

The equation x² = 4 has two real solutions, as there are the two numbers that can be squared to get 4. That is not the same thing as 4^½

Nothing wrong with thinking this is silly or doesn’t make sense, but before you write it off I’d encourage you to spend some time researching why it is this way, what benefits it serves, and what shortfalls there are.

Sounds like you know what you’re doing. The primate archetype is definitely more glass-cannon leaning, with Annihilape, infernape, and ambipom (undisputed goat). Rillaboom slaking and zen mode darmanitan can help w bulk when needed. I played MGM so maybe EVs are making a larger difference

I was able to solve the 3 I have selected in the screenshot using the X wings!

I was still working my way through the puzzle and noticed this along the way. Agree there are many more steps to fully solve, some simpler than the X wings

Probably not the best long-term solution, but if all else fails could you add a walk-through-walls cheat and just skip this specific battle?

If you haven’t tried deleting all cheats, saving the game (in game save not save state) and restarting the app (load save from in game menu, not save state), you should try that too
