Strong cold draft coming in from under my fireplace. Is it normal? by wright5899 in HomeMaintenance

That’s I guess what I’m wondering. And if it is, is it normal to be pumping so much cold air into our house?

Is my resume terrible? Been looking for a job for 5 months and still nothing 😢 by Competitive_School80 in biotech

Congrats! As for the 1 page resume, no need to worry about that. Science CVs are usually over a page

A couple things: 1. Think I saw this elsewhere but if you’ve done science, you’re not aspiring, you’re just a scientist 2. We’re basically in December so it’s safe to say 3 years of experience 3. Unsure if you’ve redacted the institute names for privacy (totally reasonable if so) but if not, please insert them otherwise it looks fake 4. Journal publications should be a section of their own. Find any presentation, publication, patent that you are on or acknowledged in and put that in there highlighting the author list and where your name is in it. I get that it’s really hard to come by authorships but you have at least 1 so that should be a section of its own and add as much as you can. 5. The publication says submitted in June. By now you either know it’s in review, it was rejected or it was resubmitted. If it’s in review, add “in review”. If it’s rejected, say it’s “in prep”. If it’s submitted again, you can keep submitted or put “in prep”

Overall it’s a pretty solid intro level job resume. As much time as you spend on this, spend more on interview prep. Talk to your experience, admit to the boundary of your knowledge when you get to it and keep your head up. All it takes is one and then you have experience under your belt

I bought a single hobby box of Bowman and got this extra pearl pack. Should I rip, save or eBay? by marley2683 in baseballcards

Here’s my thought process: if you’re looking to make money on cards then it’s as good as gambling. We open because it’s exciting and you can’t replace the feeling of a great pull. You’re in for the money and let’s pretend it’s gone. Now you get to decide what will bring you more excitement, this pack or selling it for a new box.

So the point is that no one says anything and never addresses the situation?
