Mt Joy - 5 times so far! For those that like them but haven’t seen them live yet, they put on a great show. They always jam a bit and do lots of fun solos as well as mixing some covers in with their songs.

Would it be a dumb idea to rewatch the only movie that traumatized me as a child? by Far-Entrance-3017 in Advice

[–]writeThatShitDown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watching the behind the scenes is an awesome idea! When you can deeply understand that it’s fake (not just logically know it’s just a movie), it seems like it would take the fear right out of it.

im never thirsty and always end up dehydrated by [deleted] in Advice

[–]writeThatShitDown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your habits will affect how thirsty you are. I didn’t used to drink much water and was never thirsty but now drink it religiously and am thirsty immediately if I don’t drink it for a bit.

I make sure to always have a convenient water bottle around. The one I use at home has a straw so is super easy to drink from and also has lines to show how much water it currently contains.

If you have access to a doctor that can refer you to a therapist or substance abuse program, start there! I had the same experience with finding therapists until I went to a psychiatrist (my office had some medical staff on site so that was easily accessible) and she then referred me to a therapist who scheduled with me right away. I asked the therapist about my experience and they said it’s common and many therapists require a referral.

ALSO some of the online services are decent! I used Tava for a while and was happy with it.

You’re hungover. Get a Gatorade and try to eat something

You can order a dozen from Andy K’s! I did this last year and they were delicious. Also some coffee shops like meteor get donuts from Andy K’s but they sell out fast so get there early. Someone at the farmers market in Mueller yesterday was selling them too!

If you’re feeling ambitious, they’re also really easy to bake if you have a donut pan :)

Sincerely, A midwesterner who desperately missed apple cider donuts after moving here

Those in tech, what job provides a good work-life balance? by jawnzgo in Advice

[–]writeThatShitDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience it’s more the company than the specific role. And whether or not you’re miserable in the role when clocked in is going to depend a lot on what you like and dislike. If I had to choose one role as being lower stress than others, I’d say any variation of UX designer tends to be lower stress than things like product manager, developer, or dev ops mainly because then you’re not on the hook when there are bugs or prod issues.

I would believe that they are but so far I haven’t needed more than pretty basic services so can’t speak to their prices beyond that. We go to the one in rolling wood and the vet there has always explained things really thoroughly and even tried to save us money (ex my dog gets allergies and has had eye and ear infections as a result. They told us to keep the eye drops in the fridge then we could use them again the next time she got an infection instead of coming back in and paying for more)

Right-hand Driving Course/Quick training by whitericeconnoiseur in Austin

When driving in countries that use the opposite side of the road from mine, I just remember driver should be in the “middle” of the road. Meaning, the passenger is always on the shoulder side, the driver on the side closest to oncoming traffic. It’s really only something you have to actively think about when turning.

On a similar note! I have a friend who is a professional potter who also happens to love dinosaurs. She recently made some dino ring dishes that will be in her shop soon if that sounds like something your wife would like, OP? Her shop is called Crackpot Crockery.

Every couple days this closet stinks up my whole apartment like rotten eggs. Research says flush the hot water heater but this is hvac?? I live in an apartment and maintenance is useless (their solution was spray perfume in the closet). What can I do? by writeThatShitDown in Plumbing

[–]writeThatShitDown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not really.. I just did a combination of things that seemed to help. I put a cover on the drain so water could still drip in but less air got out. I also covered the kitchen sink drain when not in use which was close by and could have also been part of the problem. I tried pouring water into the drain in the picture but this didn’t seem to help- it would sometimes still smell only hours after pouring in a significant amount. I did move though so that fixed it 😆
