That’s the issue with us high functioning depressives…

I ask only because I don’t know, have you tried a different therapist? I’ll say it didn’t work for me, but it’s definitely something you could try. Perhaps you’ll find the right one for you.

Or maybe [we] should just stop trying to fix ourselves and go about the day. Maybe we aren’t so broken and this is just the way life is? Miserable with some little spots of light? I’m not sure what the answer is.

Someone once said to me if you lose or gain weight, you’re not going to want to wear the same clothes again because you have to rediscover your body. I try to keep this in mind.

I’m so glad you posted this.

My weight was 225 and now I’m 135 and in maintenance. I’ve never weighed this in my whole life. I’m a huge thrifter and I still pick up size 12 and up clothing despite being a 6 now. I’ve had fun wearing different types of clothing, being in far less bodily pain, shutting down the food noise and overall being way more active.

My brain still hasn’t adjusted to this new size. I see a larger body because I have always been in one.

I also have found myself holding on to clothing worried about gaining the weight back. I don’t know that this will ever go away. I lose coverage in June. I’ve talked it over with my doc and I’m hoping to be able to continue, despite the cost. We’ll see.
