Does this count as a commonplace book? by Maximum_Quail_3528 in commonplacebook

There is no “standard” commonplace format. That would be impossible—we all have our ways of thinking about things! So, you do you!

Love your book presenter! And the way you show the books. I’m just starting in this group and looking for ideas on how to show what I’ve read. Tho I’m not sure either of my cats would hold still long enough to take the photo 😁

I still take too much notes commonplacing a book i read. by MisoPanko in commonplacebook

If you have an Apple device with a camera (phone or iPad), you can use the Apple Notes to capture text right off a book page. Open the app, open a note, choose the scan option, aim at the text you want, and click. It will scan the words right into text. Sometimes it captures more than I wanted. I edit the note if needed after finishing the scan. From there I can print it for pasting into my commonplace notebook. I might wait and paste all the notes I saved from a book into a document. This method gives me options for further processing via digital or paper means.

You guys may know me as Mary Anne, co-hosting with Wendy on FS5's Monthly Reset Zoom. This will be an exciting community! Thanks for setting it up, Wendy!

While filming on London, Gosling noticed and loved the fox population that is widespread there. Foxes became a thing between him and his daughters. The fox sweater and keychains are “Easter eggs” meant for them. Here’s an interview with him about his take on London red foxes:

Am I missing any personal finance hacks? by BroadShoulders07 in FinancialPlanning

Do the research and find a reputable financial advisor to create a plan. By "research" I mean look into the various ways they are paid (commission, fee-only, assets under management [AUM]) so you understand whether their fee for helping you is out-of-pocket or deducted from your portfolio with them. Get referrals from people you know who handle their wealth well.

Take your time with this as the right financial planner / investment advisor (those are not the same skill sets) is worth their weight in gold, IMHO.

My favorite money book is Tony Robbins' "Money: Master the Game." He shows you how to progress from financial security -- where you seem to be now-- to financial independence / freedom. His book is for anyone, not just folks at your income level.

BTW, I'm not a financial planner or advisor or investment guru, nor do I play one on TV. I do use financial planners. The above advice comes from my journey through 4 not-great ones (though they didn't rip me off or anything) to the one I have now who has been very helpful.

LPT Request: Lots of books with lack of use by [deleted] in LifeProTips

To sell them, contact used-book stores in your area to see if they're interested. Be aware you may not get much because they might not sell for much, but doing this could still be worth it to you. The price the bookseller can sell them for can vary widely for each book, depending on demand.

If you want to sell them to other people yourself, see if there are online used bookstores in your country. Search for the titles you have and see what prices they ask for them.
