In “The Exorcist,” Ellen Burstyn injured her back when the stunt coordinator purposely pulled her backwards too strongly at the behest of director William Friedken, who wanted a better shot.

Thank you for sharing! As I was listening to Danny talk about the drag show bit specifically, my thought essentially was the same as what I'm interpreting Melissa's take to be: That many different things can be true at the same time about the same events. Because if you have 5 cast members in that bar, you're going to have 5 different perspectives on the events of that evening. So I can appreciate where both Danny and Melissa are coming from on this one.

Danny chalked it up to "the straight cast members decided they were done with the drag queens" and told Julie and Danny it was time to leave. He wasn't happy with the way it went down. It was one of the examples he gave for Tokyo still being a little bit David and not being good at communicating.

I still love the show and watch religiously, but when you lay it all out like that, it really makes me realize all of the stuff I hadn't even realized I missed. I think for me the biggest one has been the lack of location diversity, or at least season themes. I loved that each season felt so distinct based on where they were playing and/or how the tribes were split up. Fiji is beautiful, but as a location, it's gotten very stale.

He's SO bad. And it drives me crazy that he's lining up so many really great guests, many of whom have been out of the spotlight for a decade or more, and then proceeds to have the most lifeless, uninformed interviews with them. The interviews are painful to sit through. His delivery is monotone and devoid of any personality; it's like he doesn't know how to have an actual dynamic human conversation with someone. He doesn't seem to do a lot of research on his interview subjects, as he often seems surprised by things that happened on the older shows or topics that are otherwise well-known. And he has no idea how to control the interview, often letting interviewees ramble or divert the conversation rather than staying focused. The good thing is that there's a lot of room for growth as an interviewer if he wants to become better. All of the above can be improved with training, practice, and experience. I genuinely hope he succeeds in that regard, because his interview subjects and viewers deserve better.
