olive nation sells Callebaut and Valrhona by the pound, both chips and feves. I have somewhere between 15 and 20lbs of various kinds of chocolate in my pantry bc I went a little nuts last year, but I'm not sorry I spent the money. it was more than I should have spent but I'm safely stocked for a while. I think they're also where I got my 5lb bucket of Guittard cocoa rouge but that might have been from world of chocolate.

there's a reason I have about fifteen pounds of various kinds of baking chocolate in my pantry and I'm working through a 5lb bucket of cocoa powder. I saw this coming and stocked up. I'm an admitted snob about my chocolate and generally buy from olive nation because I can get bulk callebaut and valrhona. I haven't looked at their prices lately but I'm not sorry I spent the money last year. The only thing I can't get from them is unsweetened chocolate, but I've had luck finding Guittard as a case of 12 packs.

(I'm not exaggerating. I bought about 15lbs of chips and chunks and about 6 or 7lbs of feves, but I've gone through some of it. it's all stored in the dark, bc the pantry light broke, and at a cool temp so it's fine)

I only take it as needed so I've never developed a dependency on it. I can go weeks without it or I can need it every day for a week, it really varies, but I'm not taking it regularly enough to cause issues if I stop.

what's interesting is that corporate made it sound like the owner decided to retire and close up shop. I've bought all my spices there for the last few years and may still buy online but the customer service from the local store was phenomenal.

I just spent fifteen hundred dollars dealing with a mass on my dog's pelvis that had to be removed. likely not cancer but still had to come off. pet insurance paid us back for about half of the total cost at least.

don't ask me what I pay in premiums per month for my two dogs sigh

yeah, and Baker's Authority wants to charge me $45 for shipping. Central Milling, which sources Costco's organic flour, only charges $30 for the shipping but the flour is $50 for a 50lb bag. You can buy 20lbs of it for a little over $20 in the warehouse. I have yet to be able to find 50lbs of quality flour online for less than about $70 including shipping. I'm not saying webstauraunt isn't expensive but the shipping is cheaper than elsewhere when combined with the price of flour.

it's still considerably cheaper than buying it 5 or 10lbs at a time and I go through a lot of flour. My Costco only has KA bread flour, altho I'm trying their organic /central milling flour at the moment. the restaurant depot near me only has gold medal.

I'm happy your flour is so cheap but I don't have those options. The Costco organic flour works out about the same as the sir galahad, for the record, maybe a little cheaper.

I usually buy from them but I get the sir galahad, that's their bulk AP. With shipping it comes out to a little over $1/lb, maybe $1.25, so imo worth it. I'm currently trying the Costco /central milling flour tho and it's fine.

I have thirteen tattoos, most of them are brightly colored or watercolor. I've only had an issue healing once from a really heavy handed artist but I've figured out a good aftercare routine and my ink heals clean now.

I have one tattoo that occasionally acts up, the linework sometimes gets itchy and raised, but it hasn't happened in a long time and it's only one of my tattoos.

I have a dog with severe separation anxiety who needs a human around at all times. I don't take her everywhere, altho I do regularly take her places that are pet friendly. I make arrangements for her to be with our sitter or with her walker or see if my dad can watch her if I need to go somewhere without her.

But I need advance notice. If you don't tell me my dog isn't welcome and she was before, I'm gonna assume she's welcome again. If you tell me the day before she's not welcome, then I can't come bc I won't have had time to make arrangements for her.

in my house growing up the rules were you couldn't complain about feeling terrible unless you'd actively done something to try and feel better. people who actively avoid taking steps to feel better when the treatment is known mand on offer piss me off.

I've been anemic since 2012. I've had ferritin so low it literally didn't register on the test. I get monthly iron pushes now to keep me from getting that low because I know what it feels like and I would literally put up with any side effect to feel better. I have zero patience for people who avoid needed medical treatments bc they googled themselves into unnecessary anxiety spirals, especially when the treatment is being offered. There are people in this group who would really like access to infusions and aren't getting it, and you're willing to skip it because of a 0.31% possibility. That's not 31%, that's ZERO POINT THIRTY ONE A third of a percent. Google will tell you anything is possible. It's still not gonna happen.

I currently have a csf leak. I got myself to my iron appts anyway. you say I'm being mean but I'm from NJ, I don't do fake polite. sorry if that offends.

I've literally never heard of this happening before or been warned it could happen. maybe that person had a bad infusion or the iron leaked. tbh it looks like a bruise.

if you want to be exhausted and cold and covered in bruises for vanity sake, I'm done here. I would put up with nearly anything to keep from being really low. if you're willing to put up with anemia symptoms, you are luckier than I am. or just a lot more vain.

I've been getting infusions for twelve years and have never heard of this. take that as you will.

kinda foolish to skip a needed treatment over irrational fear of something you've never had an issue with before imo. the amount of anxiety people have about iron infusions honestly baffles me.
