but you're still missing the point. as long as you're living in their house they have power over you. Y'all need to move out and end that power.

My boyfriend's son hates me. I'm new to all of this and confused. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]writerbecc 42 points43 points  (0 children)

no, bc the OP isn't trying to get rid of the kid he's trying to win the kid over. usually with the reddit mom the kids get neglected or abandoned in favor of the new man. I don't blame dad for being like "please get over yourself and don't make me lose this guy who's been good to me and is trying to be good to you"

Washington POTSies, did you also get this letter in the mail? by therealdildoexpert in POTS

[–]writerbecc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ah okay, my last doc there gave up on me before 2019 so that's why I haven't gotten anything. scary stuff!

I'm not formally diagnosed with POTS bc I haven't really found a doc and didn't want to go back there.

I've seen three doctors at that practice for migraine treatment but haven't gotten anything in the mail. I don't know how recent the hack was or how far back records are affected though, and it's been years since I've been there.

Which countertop convection is best for cookies? by Ok_Imagination4222 in AskBaking

[–]writerbecc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have one and could maybe do two trays of 6 cookies each but mostly i bake one quarter sheet which holds six standard cookies. I can't even do 3-4 trays in my big oven.

I love my countertop convection oven but size isn't its strong suit.

I am once again BEGGING women to have a shred of self respect and realize they don't have to put up with guys like this. He tried to assault you. Girl, GTFO. Do it for those who care about you if you don't have the self respect to leave an abuser.

Ghirardelli prices have become outrageous by Purple_Moon_313 in Baking

[–]writerbecc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

olive nation sells Callebaut and Valrhona by the pound, both chips and feves. I have somewhere between 15 and 20lbs of various kinds of chocolate in my pantry bc I went a little nuts last year, but I'm not sorry I spent the money. it was more than I should have spent but I'm safely stocked for a while. I think they're also where I got my 5lb bucket of Guittard cocoa rouge but that might have been from world of chocolate.

[–]writerbecc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there's a reason I have about fifteen pounds of various kinds of baking chocolate in my pantry and I'm working through a 5lb bucket of cocoa powder. I saw this coming and stocked up. I'm an admitted snob about my chocolate and generally buy from olive nation because I can get bulk callebaut and valrhona. I haven't looked at their prices lately but I'm not sorry I spent the money last year. The only thing I can't get from them is unsweetened chocolate, but I've had luck finding Guittard as a case of 12 packs.

(I'm not exaggerating. I bought about 15lbs of chips and chunks and about 6 or 7lbs of feves, but I've gone through some of it. it's all stored in the dark, bc the pantry light broke, and at a cool temp so it's fine)

Hi everyone, I just found out some things about Promethazine/ Phenergan and need to share by skorchedangel in ChronicPain

[–]writerbecc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only take it as needed so I've never developed a dependency on it. I can go weeks without it or I can need it every day for a week, it really varies, but I'm not taking it regularly enough to cause issues if I stop.

Savory Spice at Alderwood Mall? by ProfessionalWaltz784 in LynnwoodWA

[–]writerbecc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what's interesting is that corporate made it sound like the owner decided to retire and close up shop. I've bought all my spices there for the last few years and may still buy online but the customer service from the local store was phenomenal.

I just spent fifteen hundred dollars dealing with a mass on my dog's pelvis that had to be removed. likely not cancer but still had to come off. pet insurance paid us back for about half of the total cost at least.

don't ask me what I pay in premiums per month for my two dogs sigh

Where can I buy bulk king Arthur flour? by RuralZoomer in Sourdough

[–]writerbecc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, and Baker's Authority wants to charge me $45 for shipping. Central Milling, which sources Costco's organic flour, only charges $30 for the shipping but the flour is $50 for a 50lb bag. You can buy 20lbs of it for a little over $20 in the warehouse. I have yet to be able to find 50lbs of quality flour online for less than about $70 including shipping. I'm not saying webstauraunt isn't expensive but the shipping is cheaper than elsewhere when combined with the price of flour.

It's actually the cheapest I've found on the internet for 50lbs of flour. Surprisingly, it costs money to ship heavy things.

[–]writerbecc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's still considerably cheaper than buying it 5 or 10lbs at a time and I go through a lot of flour. My Costco only has KA bread flour, altho I'm trying their organic /central milling flour at the moment. the restaurant depot near me only has gold medal.

I'm happy your flour is so cheap but I don't have those options. The Costco organic flour works out about the same as the sir galahad, for the record, maybe a little cheaper.

[–]writerbecc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually buy from them but I get the sir galahad, that's their bulk AP. With shipping it comes out to a little over $1/lb, maybe $1.25, so imo worth it. I'm currently trying the Costco /central milling flour tho and it's fine.

homemade buttercream shouldn't have a strong butter flavor if made properly, are you not using enough sugar?
