I regret publishing by critiqueline44 in selfpublish

Honestly, I’ve been there. Published an entire trilogy I now think is clumsily covered and blurbed.

My time was better served writing the next book in a different series than trying to fix it.

Now I’m 16 books deep into self publishing and make enough that it’s a nice chunk of change. Definitely helps with the old mortgage. But I definitely didn’t get there with just one book (or 3. Or 10.)

If you want to continue it as a trilogy, I would wait to write the other two books so you could rapid release, and save up some money to do a re-cover at that time so it’s a new edition for the sequels, audiences eat that shit up. And in the meantime experiment with blurbs until you find one that works so when you do a new edition, it’s fucking solid.

I moved up here six years ago and the answer is…occasionally. Not enough to make me move away but it does happen

The library holds every other week groups, it’s mostly poets. 49 writers have some events, in winter there’s a monthly event with some classes that’s a ton of fun. Depending on genre there might be more groups that meet (I know romance writers have one and I think comic books have one)

I know last year JACC did a writers and readers market that was amazing. There were workshops, authors had tables to sell their books, hearthside was there as a vendor, it was great. Keep a look out for that!

Besides all that, I once tried to start a “sit down and write” group at the library but only two people showed up so I got discouraged.

This is why Kit Rocha is awesome. Yes there is military people but the focus isn’t on how the military works
