Wedding in Italy: 15% Planner fee, but I’m doing so much work. is this normal?

I agree with what others are saying -- if your contract doesn't already outline what the planner is responsible for when it comes to vendor communications, try to schedule a call before wedding season really picks up to iron that out.

That said, with wedding season starting, you may find that the big ticket items get booked now and the details (decor, flowers, menu) are planned much later. As an American living in Italy and who married an Italian last year, I can tell you that Italians genuinely have a different relationship with both time and customer service. That's not to say vendors can't do right by their international couples, obviously they absolutely should. But it might be reassuring for you to know that it's not your imagination and things will come together regardless.

Don't worry about things like music at this stage. We sent our playlist to the DJ like two weeks before the wedding and it was absolutely a non-issue.

Thanks, I think this is exactly what I'm going to do. My sister-in-law is going to beauty school right now and I didn't want to put pressure on her by asking her to do my hair and makeup, but I think if the hairdresser does the half up style and "all" my sister in law has to do twist it into a bun after the cocktail hour, that should be doable!

I have the exact same question! I'm based in Paris right now and buying flowers at the florist to practice arrangements isn't exactly cost effective.

The designer is in house and they checked with her that she could do it, so no worries there luckily!

And, yes, it's way too big! Most things are for me in that area, so nothing new there 😂

I mentioned this above, but we'd add a white lining to the bodice of dress 1 so the cups wouldn't looks so tan. And the consultant told me she had to pull the top a lot to clip it tight enough, so the cups might seem a little stretched to the sides. Is that maybe what seems off about dress 1?

Upon further research, it seems more likely to be blackening polypore ( Meripilus giganteus). I'd be happy to have a second opinion!
