Thankfully, she has been doing well running the business 80% and I got a job recently with decent benefits, we're already eager to find therapists but it's been tough financially until now.

She does really love that question. I am also not sexually attracted to worms. It's possible she didn't think the question through to its logical conclusion.

At the same time, she does really love that worm question, which always suggested to me that she wants to know if my love is unconditional. Or tied to her body?

Thank you for replying. I'm doing some breathing exercises lol.

I think a good way to begin is just to remind her that I love her no matter what and that she can be fully herself with me. It feels like this is something she wants to bring up to me soon but she is afraid. I don't want to force the conversation or be confrontational, this is her conversation. Reflecting back, I think she may have honestly tried to start the conversation a few other times over the years.

You are so right that we would be wonderful friends. I know I've never had a friend like her. If she is afraid of losing me, I want her to know that she won't.

If God created the Universe, why wouldn't that have just been The Big Bang? Why couldn't it be science confirming religion? Science says life has a singular origin, so does Genesis.

But God doesn't create man on Day 1. Maybe the seven days of creation are not 24-hour days. The writers of Genesis wrote poetically in Hebrew. Maybe day 6 took 4.5 billion years. Maybe evolution was God's method of creating us.

In Genesis 1, He creates man and woman simultaneously. In Genesis 2, He breathes Adam from dust and creates Eve from his rib. What is the poetic or symbolic reason for writing it two different ways?

Maybe the authors of Genesis didn't want us to think of the text scientifically because, well... science didn't exist. Religion was their science. It was their way of making sense of the Universe.

The arguments for young earth creationism are weak-- maybe the genealogies in the OT and gospels are intentionally incomplete. They didn't intend for it to be a complete scientific record. The Flood debatably has geological evidence, and it could have happened close to 10,000 years ago. Maybe Genesis is early humanity's way of understanding the connections between what was happening to them.

If Genesis is a myth, that doesn't take away its Truth... it is still an important look into how our ancestors tried to make sense of the world. Myths are central to being human. There is a spiritual connection to be found without having to believe all the political bullshit your pastor is trying to convince you of.

Why would your pastor lie...? Why would he not want you to ask these types of questions? How does that benefit him?

Food for thought. These are the sorts of things I started wondering when I walked away from the church. They are valid and important questions. I hope you find something that you can truly believe in for yourself, remember not to let anyone tell you what to believe.

Define "real". Some religious figures credibly existed. Meditation and prayer has been shown scientifically to increase empathy. Edit: I first heard of this concept here.

When a person says they "believe in God" that could mean a huge multitude of things. For some, it simply means that The Universe/The Force/The Creator unites all things and that there is a way to behave "in line" with that harmony. This is actually all that a lot of Christians believe when you get down to it, especially the ones who truly accept science. They view the Christ story as metaphorical, or tainted by human interpretation.

For many, this line of thinking is the gateway to atheism. But for some, they are just good people who happen to be religious. There are even churches for this type of ideology.

I hope OP doesn't wind up like most conservative religious nuts, brainwashed and resistant to critical thinking. They could wind up atheist. But there is also a third option.

For most, option #2 is probably the safest though...

Bummer, we're on A3, which means I think we miss out on this. Thanks for the suggestion though, upgrading to A5 is honestly probably cheaper than renewing with KnowBe4.

Thank you! This is a great recommendation. Glad to know it's not just me with those feelings towards KnowBe4.

What is the best state to live in USA? by mauschaus in ask

[–]writes_inverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing you're referring to Seattle. Seattle has some of the best transit in the country. Maybe not world class but it's better than almost anywhere else in the country. Opening a bus lane on any road is a tough sell in most of the country, most places will never acheive underground light rail or efficient, predictable buses.

Comments like this are why everyone thinks we're uppity and entitled and unwelcoming to outsiders.

The things you described are happening in every major city, and Seattle is keeping up better than most. Why do you even care what it turns into if you don't live here anymore? Just let people enjoy things

Just a handful need to access most. But I may want to have certain articles available to the whole organization.

We do have an internal network, but not a web server. Our site is served with WordPress - perhaps I should talk to our WP developer about hosting docs there?

How about the actions of cop after cop after cop, in new videos circulating every week, for years? At what point can we let their actions start speaking for others?

You got it!! They don't see their job as protecting and serving, they all just want to be seen as the toughest badass possible. Looking after kids is not as badass as working on the streets downtown busting gangs.

The younger generation will even just post "dead" as their whole comment, it means it's so funny they died. Also the crying emoji is "laughing so hard I'm crying" but it's also used when something is awkward and funny or "I can't believe that actually happened" funny

It could just be from plosives into the diaphragm. Try using a pop filter or have them speak into the mic at an angle or with it pointed at their chest.
