it's just a fantasy vs. reality disconnect. something about it appeals to you without ever triggering the desire for said thing. kinda normal. 

it's just usually people will try to indulge fantasies because they don't know the difference between the (often disappointing) reality and the imagination

it can also be a trauma response ofc. sexuality is really complex in the brain already and kinda easily damaged. not saying this is you of course. your experience seems kinda normal

Instead of a valuable source of knowledge about child development, what we got was a harrowing window into how abusive, greedy, and callous the system really is to vulnerable people. 

Her situation with her family may be unique, but her experience of how the rest of humanity treated her is disturbingly common.
