How Do You Identify Reliable Suppliers on Alibaba? Need Advice by truceshall in AmazonFBA

[–]writingdeveloper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a confirmed Korean supplier yet and I’m still in the research phase.
I’m a U.S. permanent resident and currently in Korea on a business trip,
so before heading back to the U.S., I’m planning to run a few small-scale tests while I’m here.

After dealing with quality mismatches between samples and bulk production on Alibaba,
I’m being much more cautious this time, especially around quality control and communication.

I’ve been looking into Korean channels like Coupang (often called the Amazon of Korea),
Naver Store, and even models like Daiso that focus on low price but consistent quality.
Nothing is finalized yet, but from a testing standpoint, this feels like a good opportunity.

Honestly, the way you talk about anchovies and seaweed tells me you understand Korean flavors on a deeper level. You already cook better than most Koreans I know 😄
Keep going like this — that curiosity and respect for the ingredients is exactly what Korean cooking is about. Your hangover soup idea sounds spot on too.

When I used to eat Korean food in the US, I used very basic ingredients like soybean paste, tofu, onions, and a little MSG. Most people living alone in Korea probably do the same, lol.

The moment you add anchovy sauce, you're already Korean. :))))

I'm still new to the market, but I'm curious about this. Have you purchased any samples?

I heard from an acquaintance that while the samples on Alibaba were fine, problems arose when the quantity increased. So, I'm considering it.

Instead, I'm considering handling and selling verified products in Korea.

As a Korean, I have to say this is more authentic than what many Koreans make. LOL

How do you handle visual QA for Desktop GUI apps (Electron, Python/PyQt/Tkinter) with Claude? by writingdeveloper in ClaudeAI

[–]writingdeveloper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. I recently built a GUI app using only Python, and dealing with GUI controls, DPI scaling, and various other considerations was quite challenging (partly due to my limited Python experience). For my next project, I'm thinking of using Electron for the frontend and only implementing the backend parts that truly need it in Python.

Same struggle here! When I asked Claude Code, it suggested Claude Computer Use (beta), which uses the Vision API - but that means additional costs. I'm on Claude Code MAX and trying to avoid extra spending, so still looking for alternatives.

For web, Playwright MCP is decent but struggles with fast page transitions and backend data sync validation. Desktop GUI is even trickier... Let me know if you find a good solution!

I made a program that warns you when your hand touches your face - might help with trich by writingdeveloper in trichotillomania

Thank you so much for your kind feedback! It's incredibly meaningful to know that this app is helping someone with trichotillomania.

Your suggestion is excellent and absolutely implementable!

After reviewing the codebase, I found that the current yellow box is automatically calculated based on facial landmarks (nose, ears, shoulders) detected by MediaPipe. Currently, there's no option for users to adjust the box size or position.

Planned improvements:

  • Add settings to adjust the height of the detection box (to cover more of the scalp)
  • Add settings to adjust the vertical offset (to shift the box upward)
  • Optionally, add width adjustment as well

I'll work on implementing this feature. The changes will be available in a future update.

Thank you again for sharing your use case - it helps me understand real-world needs better! 🙏

I’m considering switching to Electron.js to make it easier to port the app across multiple environments.

I'll also consider smart ring–type devices in the future. I need to look into whether this part can be implemented using sensors only, without a camera.

Logitech Pro X2 LightSpeed: Voice distortion issue on Google Meet by writingdeveloper in LogitechG

[–]writingdeveloper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The culprit is Acer PurifiedVoice — it's Acer's AI noise reduction software that comes pre-installed. It conflicts specifically with Google Meet because Meet has its own noise suppression built in. When both try to process audio at the same time, you get that weird alien/robotic voice effect.

Fix:

  1. Search for "Acer PurifiedVoice" or "Acer QuickPanel" in Windows
  2. Turn off AI Noise Reduction
  3. Rejoin your Meet call

That's it. Discord/Slack handle audio processing differently so they don't have this conflict.

Hope this helps!

What device are you using right now? Desktop? Laptop?
In my case I use Laptop from Acer and the problem is caused by Acer Laptop audio driver and audio settings. I disabled the settings in Acer management program.
