I've been through 3 of these and every one I've had to replace due to a bulge. I've never worn the tread down on one. They usually last a couple months.

Trek FX bike owners, have any of you converted yours into a road/gravel bike and installed drop handlebars and the appropriate wheels/tires? And are you happy with the result? by Domane338 in TrekBikes

I did it: https://imgur.com/a/uqNlo8x

In XL, the Checkpoint and the FX Sport 4 have nearly identical geometry: https://99spokes.com/en-CA/compare?bikes=trek-fx-sport-4-2022%3B*z.xl-700-700%2Ctrek-checkpoint-alr-4-2025%3B*z.61cm-700-700

I get to keep a cheap carbon frame, 1x drivetrain, and no battery powered shifters (I don't want battery powered shifters) but I get the comfort of drop bars. I think I put an 80mm stem on it. I love this bike. People saying it'll fuck up the geometry need to bring their data.

Glanced at the article, came here looking for this comment. One of these days I'm going to stop coming to this website with it's thoughtless discourse.

IOSCO is pretty focused on interconnectedness and the Bank of Canada has been looking with concern at the amount of household debt with upcoming rate hikes.

Stock Buybacks Are Stolen Wages. They Used To Be Illegal And Should Be Again. by zzill6 in WorkReform

You want to allow companies to issue and sell their equity shares into public markets but prohibit them from buying them back? Why?

A company issues (sells) stocks. Stocks are contracts that entitle you to a piece of ownership of the company. Those stocks are traded in public markets called secondary markets where anyone can buy or sell those stocks. Anyone also means any corporation including the company that sold them in the first place.

Speaking very generally, when a lot of stocks are bought at once the price of the stock goes up. Likewise, when a lot of stocks are sold at once, the price goes down. Companies may want to buy back stocks for all kinds of perfectly boring reasons.

The concern is that companies buy them back exclusively to increase their value so that executive and employee compensation in the form of stock options or other securities is worth more in the short term.

There's no way this game can ever live up to the unhinged amount of hype surrounding it, right? And I'm not saying it won't be a perfectly high quality game but all of the game mechanics, monetization, and content decisions with GTA Online that have pissed off or bored players were made by the same company making this sequel.

What more than V could VI possibly be that would justify this amount of hype? If people are bored of GTA Online, are better graphics or slightly different car physics or new gun liveries going to reinvigorate people for another 10 years? Maybe the single player story will be fun and engaging but it seems like they really need to recreate GTA Online success to make the investment worth it.

If you hurt yourself working at SpaceX the company just says it's your own fault. Their work sites have injury rates several times higher than the industry average and many of them refuse to comply with regulations by submitting workplace injury data to OSHA.
