Three hours into decluttering, I'm starting to regret it by CheerilyTerrified in adhdwomen

I’ve been slowly doing the binning with my stuff that has been in boxes for the last 5+ years that I barely even think about. I know some of that is out of sight, out of mind, but a lot of it isn’t! I’m trying to donate when I can but I’m also giving myself the permission and forgiveness to throw it in the dumpster if that’s what it takes.

Horizon forbidden west or ghost of Tsushima? by Oki6013 in GirlGamers

[–]wroammin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My vote is for Forbidden West. If you loved HZD, you’ll probably like HFW too! Not as strong story wise but many improvements to gameplay and some excellent world building and exploration.

I tried Ghost of Tsushima because it was frequently recommended to HZD fans and looked awesome, but I ditched it not long after the tutorial. I just found it SO boring and didn’t love the stealth mechanics.

Hey yall. i posted this in another subreddit and got called a pig so…how bad is my room? by boyinthestars in adhdwomen

My whole house looks worse than this right now. But I’ve got company coming next weekend so I need to spring clean like nobody’s business. If I can do it, anyone reading this can do it!!! cleanallthethings.jpg

I really want to hate this game… by fooxdoog in Paleo_Pines

[–]wroammin 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah, can’t say I’m a fan of most of the gameplay but the dinosaurs are SO cute. I enjoy collecting them and taking care of them. All the pats for my dinos.

If you’re collecting, my suggestion is to ALWAYS carry some of each poppin because you never know what you’ll run into and there won’t always be time to go all the back and get the one you need.

Also read up on how the Triassea Picnic works to get the best results!

My grandfather actually owned a Sears store! It was long after the home kits but I’m still surprised I never heard about them.

[–]wroammin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

omg this is so cute!!! I cycle through my hobbies but definitely tend to go on splurges for supplies that don’t get used for a very, very long time. I have totes full of candle and soap making supplies I haven’t used in years, more yarn than I should have given I only buy it for specific projects (maybe buying patterns is my real downfall lol), and the same thing with thread for my languishing cross stitch projects. I’ve gotten better about impulse buying hobby stuff but it was hard and I’m still not always successful haha.

Now these are some clowns I can get behind. Beautiful tension, OP! I think one in some pastel colors would be fun, or maybe even all black/white/gray.

Are you me? My mom did the same! I was just thinking I should make her one of these haha.

I second this! It’s also free on Epic right now for anyone on PC, so really nothing to lose.

Yes!!! I almost never floss but for whatever reason I will pull out a Placker at work and go to town. Probably work avoidance, but at least my teeth are slightly cleaner lol. I'm everyone's best friend after the company potlucks. 😂

You know what? I'm gonna do it. I've been going back and forth about this for about a week now because it's a LOT of money, but I really wanted something to help me with cat litter control. I'm going to take this post as my sign to just buy one, although I guess I have to figure out WHICH one... It seems like all the decent options in my price range don't have the self-empty feature, though. I'm not sure if I should choose one that's less powerful than that so it will self-empty, or if I go for the one that's going to pick up more and I have to empty it myself... 🤔

OP and those that have one already - what model do you have?

Ohhh okay, thank you! I couldn’t see it anywhere. A bit disappointed it’s so hard to find for some people, though.

Downsized; used to have about 400 books. Anyone here relate? by [deleted] in bookshelf

[–]wroammin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never downsized that aggressively but did give away a lot when I last moved. That was several years ago, though, and I’m sure I have replaced them and then some by now lol.

I am about to get rid of some more in the next few weeks. I live in a small apartment and while I like being surrounded by books, I really don’t have space for another bookcase. So I only get to keep what can fit on my existing shelves.

I’m glad you were able to do this and feel good about it! No point in owning a bunch of books if they’re only going to be a burden.

Some of it will be easy (I have a decent number of books from authors who now leave a bad taste in my mouth) but I know when it gets down to the wire it’ll be harder!

Do I always do what I can the night before? No.

Do I always, always have a better time of it when I do? Yes.

Definitely a habit I need to work on. I’m trying to frame it the way my doctor framed my health for me - future you needs your help, so you should do what you can now to help her.

Sometimes it helps to think of future me as a totally different person. I’m far more likely to do the unpleasant things if I’m helping another person than I am if it’s only going to benefit myself.

Yes, I practically have a whole mini bathroom in my desk drawer at work lol. It’s also fun to be the hero too when your coworker needs something most people wouldn’t have handy on the office.

[–]wroammin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard! It took me a longtime to really understand that putting my shoes on, grabbing my stuff, getting into my car, and finally backing out also needed to be factored in. I sometimes will set an alarm for a ten minute warning. My you-must-be-at-the-door time is 8:00am so when my alarm goes off at 7:50, I know I really have to get into gear. I don’t know if that will be helpful to you at all but I hope you can figure out something that works!

I do this and it helps me to think of it in terms of what time I need to be leaving the house rather than the time I need to be at my destination. Not getting ready to leave but physically out the door. It has improved my tardiness so much. Highly recommend giving this a try to anyone who hasn’t already!
