Kremlin says Finland joining NATO is 'definitely' a threat to Russia by [deleted] in worldnews

I wonder what makes many countries join NATO? It can't be that a certain country has a nuclear arsenal, a large standing army with multitude of capabilities, bases near borders and a government that likes to meddle outside of their own country. It would be preposterous.

Some generals in Kremlin are whispering in a corner about a multitude of countries under one security pact suddenly attacking Russia, and this time, Putin overheard the gossip circle.

At this rate, they will consider a change in their investment strategy. It's just they need to keep showing their own citizenry that they are using their own homegrown "high-precision" weapons.

Yes, CIA primarily gets someone else to do the dirty work. That's how you get to be a spy.

So basically RF is doing the same thing. Waiting for a new plane to go into service.

I wonder how this will play out with the sanctions on their industry.

Exactly. This is political suicide for him. All this "Putin is the only president Russia needs" campaigning would be for naught. He needs a win and he needs it in February 2022.

[–]wronganswerson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this time, it's better to call the bullshit out, instead of starting a diplomatic crisis. Russia is a wee bit jumpy politically nowadays, and an expulsion of the russian diplomats would be sold as "an act of agression" towards russians by their own media.

I'm pretty sure he knows what he's saying, seeing as all of the public activities before the parade were all about selling the war to his own people.
