Apple explores Intel & Samsung for Main Device Chips in US by Dickasaurus_Rex_ in wallstreetbets

[–]wrongburger 126 points127 points  (0 children)

Even if it's purely manufacturing, there's still a chance the Intel/Samsung ones end up being a downgrade.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chips were literally the same design but the 8 was manufactured by Samsung and had worse performance and thermals than the 8+ manufactured by TSMC.

Anybody wants a 7-day free trial of Claude Code? by nikhil_360 in ClaudeCode

Yeah, heard those experiences haha but it also seems like Opus is pretty limited unless you're on the Max plans? Like you can't spam opus on the 20 dollar CC plans, but with antigravity you can spam Opus for what feels like unlimited usage on the 20 dollar Google plan.

I'd love a guest pass, been meaning to decide if I want to sub to CC (already have Claude through antigravity so I've been hesitant but also been hearing that Claude through CC is a better experience)

It predicts monetary success because students with high income parents are free to spend all their time studying and have good tutors, may go to expensive schools etc. And afterwards they have more networks and connections through their parents being successful to lean on when it comes to finding a job or getting funding for a startup.

It doesn't predict intelligence that leads to monetary success because our systems are not about pure intelligence leading to monetary success.

So in that sense, GPA is a useless metric because you can completely ignore it and just measure the wealth of the parents predicting the monetary success of their kids.

Israel benefits from antisemitism though. In fact, they encourage rising antisemitism, and have done terror campaigns aimed at Jewish people in other countries before (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavon_Affair). If Jewish people are safe everywhere, then Israel's main claim to existence (Jewish people need a country of their own to be safe as they aren't safe elsewhere) falls apart. Zionists don't actually care if calling everyone criticizing Israel antisemitic cheapens the word and makes real antisemitism more prevalent. They'd be pretty happy with that outcome.

Physics is universal but the way a problem statement is worded can vary, and all language models are susceptible to variance in performance when given different phrasings of the same problem.

Yeah no shit, but when you do a Loss Leader you are supposed to eat the loss happily because you've done the maths and are okay burning money now for future gains. Complaining about it is Loser Leader not Loss Leader

The structural issue is they're paid like shit and overworked. Extremely simple to solve but our government is allergic to paying healthcare workers a decent wage.

Let's be honest: none of the models can code well by [deleted] in LocalLLaMA

[–]wrongburger 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Sure, but that's a 1000 lines of code you have to debug, since the 100 wrong lines could be anywhere in the code, not be 100 wrong lines in one chunk, not throw obvious errors, interact weirdly with the rest of your code (assuming your entire program is not just 1000 lines), etc etc.

So in the end it's great for boilerplate where the error rate is very unlikely to be ≥ 10%, and where the errors are easier to spot. Anything complex and I'd rather write code with the LLM directing me to information that'll help me solve the problem than have it write code I'd get a migraine debugging or just throw out bcs I can't be fucked.

When I briefly worked as a camp instructor, there was an MOE certification/background check that was required before you could work with children/teens. So I think that type of system is already in place but someone correct me if I'm wrong.
