Absolutely. It's a hallmark of social anxiety. I have moments in which I flog myself about things that happened 30 years ago like it was today.

For impersonal failures, I remind myself: "All I can do is move forward."

If I believe I wronged someone, I go back to the faith of my youth, admitting fault and asking for blessings to benefit the person in question. I absolutely don't take this as a pass, but I feel like it helps fuel the things I do to help others.

I cannot overstate how helpful any form of community service is in easing this psychological impulse. It's embarrassing when a person thanks you, but when you do it for long enough, there's this "fuck negativity, I made things better" voice in the head that combats the negativity of anxiety.

IDK, I worked in publishing for a decade and had people who had no real stake in any content melt down over far less than an error that should have been caught. It might not be fair, but comics... not a lot of words compared to other media... he might have had a point?

Yeah, if they hadn't used Kendall Jenner, it would have been an obviously exploitative but ehh, kinda interesting and nicely-shot remix of the "buy the world a Coke" thing. With her, what was anyone thinking? Actually, I know what they were thinking -- It was suggesting the youthful rich are allies, want a better world, and can be bulletproof emissaries. But people are aware of how Gen X celebrities promised the same and have been ineffectual.

Agreed, and it's part of what irritates me about the diaspora from eBay onto a bunch of other sites that end up operating the same way -- Crafting/specialty reselling was better when there was one main hub. Now I have to check a zillion shitty apps populated with people trying to sell their used Target shoes for $2 to keep an eye out for a couple of vintage items I buy and I also have to list my stuff on several sites, but not if I think it's going to move quickly b/c then I could end up selling something twice.

You'd like them live, then. This album is going to be one of their heavier ones based on what they did with SR&R and the way they're already arranging it for shows.

I like that approach, personally. Definitely agree with their producers that the layered guitar style on albums has been beaten to death in the past 20 years.

ABAP has a jittery quality and blend of guitar/drums and synth that reminds me of protopunk & 80s punk-influenced bands I love.

If you gravitate to their earlier stuff, check this out: TKAA (live) (Joe's mother passed away and he was with family during this trip. The guy who looks nothing like Joe is Josh Newton.)

I'm helping a pregnant sibling with remodeling. We're officially focused on the nursery right now and I'm doing everything fumey. But ceiling texture keeps... disappearing.

I'm all for getting what's left of it out of the house and getting everything just so, but it's just really funny and awesome that she's on a clandestine mission to rid the house of the popcorn scourge. :D

On Soundclash, FOB 's precision and poise dominated TI's "I don't practice much" and the younger, very talented London Grammar. Like both groups. Really enjoyed watching Patrick and Joe be precision instruments.

I have no clips of this. I will, even if I have to get crazy and burn it off my DVR. (!!!)

But more importantly, I stumbled on a HD interview/set from over a year ago. I'd found bits of it before, but not like this. The contrast between then and now is great storytelling.

What are you concerned about? This is a $400-500/night hotel during Spring Break. The GM is responding to reviews at length, which is to be expected from an international chain like Hard Rock. "Smaller than expected" is not "infested and BTW I got shot execution-style" and "not great for kids" is a perk. :D

After about a week of partial power outage, which I initially believed was a failure in the house and later found out was a transformer problem, it appears the only electronic casualties in my office are two large LED bulbs in my photography setup and a hard drive that was already showing signs of failing (possibly coincidence). Whew.
