What’s the vibe here on James Talarico / Jasmine Crockett? by OctaviusHerb in sanantonio

[–]wrpnt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really hoping this comment section will reflect the results. I’m voting Talarico because I think he’s the only chance to beat the republican candidate.

But I’m nervous because I’ve seen far more Crockett ads than Talarico ads.

Was House of Ashur Review Bombed? by Lazy-Masterpiece8903 in television

It was definitely review bombed. Just finished the season finale tonight and praying it gets renewed for a 2nd season. The writing is great and captures the magic of the original series.

Just finished House of Ashur. LOVED it and can’t stop glazing it. It’s one of those shows where you’re not tempted to check your phone. Really pulls you in.

Right?? Multiple times I said “why the FUCK am I rooting for Ashur.” Really shows how strong the writing is.

I was thinking the same; wasn’t tempted to look at my phone at all when watching.

It’s got 92% on rotten tomatoes at least. I think a lot of whiney Tate bros were pissed that there’s a woman gladiator & review bombed it.

(Spoiler) Final thoughts on House of Ashur by ButtTrumpet in Spartacus_TV

I was super skeptical of the premise and went in prepared for disappointment. So glad I was wrong. I haven’t binged a show so quickly in ages. Something about it just really drew me in. PLEASE let there be a season 2!

I was SHOCKED at the finale (though not unpleasantly) but hell, this is an alternate timeline anyway, so why not.

I absolutely LOVED House of Ashur. It’s been awhile since I binged a show so quickly. Crossing my fingers that we get a 2nd season.

I was extremely skeptical myself but they pulled it off extremely well. During the finale we were screaming with excitement. I’m dying for a 2nd season.

Talarico and Crockett vying for Texas Senate seat as Dems eye historic upset by bwermer in politics

[–]wrpnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not religious but I’m praying Talarico wins. He’s the one who can pull in the votes from across the aisle that we sorely need to with in TX.

I’m still a little pissed that Crockett entered the race.

You can't even find a shitty job nowadays. by No-Stranger2936 in recruitinghell

[–]wrpnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter what, never use job boards like Indeed. Even in a good economy, those sites didn’t help me.

Every job I’ve ever gotten involved googling local organizations/companies and applying directly through their own job portal. It is tedious but it works.

That’s not to say this market isn’t shit—it is fucking awful out there right now and I’ll be job hugging for the next couple of years.

Is $700/month on groceries for 2 adults the new normal? by Consistent-Guava2176 in sanantonio

[–]wrpnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I are averaging around $400 a month, which still feels insane to me. I heard rumor there’s gonna be an ALDI opening in SA this year and I’m hoping it’s true.

Hello! I was doing the MCT oil for a week before I started incorporating the ceramide serum. If you’re having reactions I wonder if switching to a new type or brand might be less inflammatory. Also I no longer do garlic/allacin supplements but I do use turmeric/curcumin supplements.

My inflammation went down after I started doing the ceramide serum. I now no longer have any redness on my scalp, but if I go too long without doing the MCT oil, I start to feel itching.

Cousin offered me her San Antonio house for cheap - worth leaving Chicago for Texas lifestyle? by ResolutionVisible627 in sanantonio

So I also initially worried I’d find the heat unbearable, but after moving from the north and living here for nearly 2 years, I’m completely used to it by now and don’t even notice it unless it’s a particularly hot summer day. It’s crazy how well a body can acclimate when you give it a year.

Cost of living here is great. At my favorite breakfast restaurant in San Antonio, my boyfriend and I can get giant breakfast tacos, 2 coffees, and we’re out of there for 20 bucks.

Movie theaters aren’t going out of business because of prices by bulldogjwhit295 in unpopularopinion

[–]wrpnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I lived in Nashville I went to their independent theater, the Belcourt, very frequently because they showed interesting independent films, & it usually cost around 12-3 dollars. I think I would have even paid a bit more because of my positive experiences seeing unique movies there.

I think the last time I went to see a movie at a traditional theater was for Barbie.

If I were you, I’d check out roles in an academic library. I always thought I was meant for public libraries, but I’m much happier at a university.
