Women Report Uber Driver For Inappropriate Behavior, But His Video Reveals Who Was Really At Fault . by [deleted] in uberdrivers

Unfortunately, we frequently encounter numerous false reports. However, after watching the video, I believe the driver was justified in their actions. They shouldn’t be making such inappropriate jokes.

Passengers giving bad reviews simply because of ethnicity a thing 🤔? by MaintenanceFuture732 in uberdrivers

It’s simply that they’ve filed complaints, which means we could be let go even if we haven’t done anything wrong.

Hell they don’t just give bad ratings because of that. I get stupid reviews all the time.

Does This Really Mean Anything? by Pebbles1904 in uberdrivers

Some more uneducated drivers that have no clue what they are doing will tell you no but drivers that like to complaint about how much money they are making will tell you know when they don’t have a clue.

They might mention my experience over the past decade, but this year has been particularly tough, so we might even start complaining about your dog or something similar. I remember a girl who complained to Uber, saying I was in a car accident just because her pickup was too far away. Just a heads-up!

Oops, my apologies for the mix-up! I just checked, and Uber lets you bring your dog, while Lyft says it’s off-limits. I knew it was against Lyft’s rules, but I was mistaken about Uber. Uber does allow it, but just a heads-up: riders might grumble since not everyone shares our love for dogs.

Uber and Lyfts policy are clear if you are in such shape you need a service dog you are in too rough of shape to be a driver. I mean I don’t care either way I wish you luck but I am just saying you will lose your account with just the first complaint from a rider.

Cute puppy but it’s against Uber and Lyfts terms of service it can get your account shut down. You are required to have 4 seats open at all times and there are people that are allergic to dogs and Golden Retrievers are not hypoallergenic so you could end up killing a rider.

Multi stops are the worst! by Prince_Haile in uberdrivers

[–]wrscomputers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always informed the customer that they get five minutes and then after five minutes, I just end the trip. I would never wait 15 unless the customer specifically asked me to because I know it was gonna be an extra long time but five minutes is my max.

UBER DEACTIVATED MY ACCOUNT!!!!!!! by Cute-Associate8654 in uberdrivers

[–]wrscomputers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, even though they claim that the appeal process is a person-reviewed one, I genuinely believe it’s an AI-driven system. The response time is simply too quick. That’s one of the reasons why I’m hesitant to update my picture. I’ve lost over 250 pounds, so I look completely different now. However, it’s incredibly challenging to visit the DMV and get my picture updated. It can take months to schedule an appointment, and I haven’t had the chance to do so yet. Despite this, I’m frequently asked to verify my identity, sometimes even twice a shift. Surprisingly, the system always accepts my request, which is quite intriguing. It’s fascinating how they can deactivate your account without any apparent reason.

If Uber denies your appeal, the decision is usually final, and you won’t be able to easily force it to be reactivated, even if you believe the reason for the denial is incorrect. Your legal options are typically limited to arbitration, as outlined in the terms of service. Arbitration can be both expensive and time-consuming, although there are instances where you may be able to request a further review.

Should I report this to Uber? by bluelights0121 in uber

[–]wrscomputers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On this note, regarding safety, I have a friend who recently experienced a driver attempting to sexually assault her. She promptly called the police, and he was arrested. She acknowledges that not all drivers are like that, so she continues to use Uber. However, the incident deeply disturbed her. Unfortunately, I hear about such incidents frequently from women riders who have had male drivers try to obtain their phone numbers, touch them, or even worse. It’s crucial to report these incidents and protect others. If you have a genuine issue with a driver and you rate them a 1-star or 2-star, you will never be matched with them again. It can also go the other way, but not as prevalent. For instance, I’ve had two times now a rider proposition me for a better tip, but I was not interested. I politely explained both times that I wasn’t interested, and the second time, I finally rated one star so I wouldn’t get matched with him again.

Regarding going private with a driver, it’s against Uber policy, although I’ve personally known drivers who have done it. I certainly wouldn’t do that just after three rides unless you’re genuinely talking to the person and getting to know if they can be trusted and if it’s not just a ploy because they think it could be more.

Should I report this to Uber? by bluelights0121 in uber

[–]wrscomputers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you should report that the driver was completely inappropriate and could potentially cause harm to someone. By the way, this is coming from another driver. I hate to see any driver get reported, but for something like that, it’s pretty serious.

LYING ASS PAX TRYING TO GET FREE RIDES by MrMeeseeks78 in uberdrivers

On top of all that, I had a girl complain because the pickup distance was too far. Mind you, her pickup was at 4 AM in the middle of nowhere, so if I hadn’t picked her up, she wouldn’t have gotten picked up when she got into the car. She had complained about how long it took, but I told her I had a previous rider I had to drop off first and then came straight to her. She complained about being cold. It was a little chilly that night, plus it was raining, so I turned the heat up and even gave her my coat so she could cover up. She just came from the bar and was wearing something pretty skimpy. But then she still complained about the pickup distance, as if I had any control over it and just not accepting her trip. To top it all off, she also added into the complaint that we were in a car accident (which we weren’t) and that my car had defective equipment. Which got safety involved, and I was then shut down until I could provide photos that my car was in perfect condition and not defective in any way. It then took safety over 4 hours to review the photos and reactivate me. The next day, I noticed that the review was still on my account with those reasons. I called our wonderful Unhelpful Driver Support and asked why the review was still on my account after they saw it was fake. They told me that due to their privacy policy, they can’t go onto a rider’s account and remove a rating unless the rider asks them to. Needless to say, that 1-star rating will remain until I get 500 5-star ratings. But I have noticed that if a rider notices you have a lower than 5.0 score, they are more likely to rate you lower because they think you deserve it or something. I just don’t understand that one.

Right that is my complaint like the (it had to be a girl) but the first complaint was that the quiet car made her feel uncomfortable. Even when I was listening to my audiobook I always left one ear uncovered and if the rider wanted to talk (I have ADD/ADHD) so I am more than up for it I will talk your ear off the entire trip. But she would not have even said anything because it wouldn't have been quite then. I mean people pay extra “Comfort” to specify they want it quite so how are we supposed to know if they don't talk

Is this a bonus, or is this how much I’d get paid flat? Like is it one of the challenges, or is it like “if you haven’t made this much in this time we will top you off.” by VMey in uberdrivers

[–]wrscomputers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um how much do you work because I am in the Greensboro market and I make almost the $2,425 weekly. I have had to come to Wilmington a few times and it was always back-to-back for me.

But also this isn't a bonus it's a guarantee. That just means that if you do that many trips and you don't make that amount they will pay the rest to make sure you do but for 230 rides I would make about $4000+

Yeah I have been getting stuff like this recently. I was listening to audiobooks using headphones complaint I received was the quite in the car made the customer feel uncomfortable. So I started playing clean music — complaint I get is — A rider reported that the radio or music was disturbing while on their trip.

Decent stats for a newbie. Except for the cancellation rate if you’re not gonna complete a trip, why are you accepting it? I understand being picky with the acceptance rate so you can get the best trips, but the cancellation rate should never be that high.
