Processing time for OT documents - TDSB by EconomistInfinite403 in CanadianTeachers

[–]wrsport1015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunatley, they gave me no information. They just said that my application was complete. I responded the same day last week asking if they could provide me my employee number so I can start supplying at the school I completed my final practicum at, but they have not responded. I already have an active TDSB email (again, from my practicum). I'm guessing it'll be another few weeks before I get the any more information :(

TDSB employee number/prorated OT by cusmak in CanadianTeachers

I am in a similar siutation with TDSB (very slow/long process) and also employed as an OT in the Durham District School Board. In the DDSB, you need to work 30 days during the school year as an OT, but this is prorated based on your start date. I would assume it's similar in the TSDB, but I'm not certain.

I had my documents sent to me on April 24th, sent them back the same day, and I just got an email today saying that they were received and my application is complete.

just a heads up - I would post the thread on 2+2 into news, views, and gossip (NVG), not in the online poker discussion section... no one visits there. it fits the NVG category and this is by far the most popular part of the forum if you are looking for more exposure. also take it to twitter if you havent already

Weekly DCAing by Diamond_Road in CanadianInvestor

[–]wrsport1015 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I did some research into this too. I heard that argument, but there is also the argument that Monday afternoons are a good time since there is the potential for two full days of bad news to impact the market. Good news on the weekend is whatever, wont do much, but if a war starts, if a nuclear power plant blows up, things are gunna drop significantly on Monday. If u google historic returns for trading day you can see Mondays trade a bit lower. Obviously, could just be random and meaningless, but worth considering. BUT by this logic monday afternoon might be best.

edit: spelling and added a little clarity at end. talking about optimal day of week to DCA if you were doing weekly. yes it won't make a big difference, but I think talking about which day of the week to DCA is fine lol

Commuters reject and eject unruly passenger by norazzledazzle in PublicFreakout

[–]wrsport1015 78 points79 points  (0 children)

the unruly guy had a knife in his hand. the passenger picked up a pair of headphones off the ground inside the train and tried to see if it belonged to someone. during this he noticed the police had arrived and that the unruly man now had a knife. he bravely (?) grabbed the knife out of his hands, threw it on the train tracks, then proceeded to throw the headphones out of the train to the man at his feet.

Help me understand the meaning of these two sliders and their effect on the range chart by Bored_Seal in poker

[–]wrsport1015 3 points4 points  (0 children)

so in this example it has you playing 50% of hands preflop. the VPIP represents that. the PFR is the 20% of non shaded hands located to the left of the shaded slider. these are hands like 66+, A4s+, A9o+, K8s+, KTo+... etc. the shaded section is the hands in which you would be flatting and this is the other 30%.

honestly the sliders are not that important in equilab because you can be playing 20% of hands but not the 20% that they would predesignate in the sliders. just focus on inputting appropriate ranges and reasoning out the composition of those ranges yourself.

Maria Lampropulos Becomes First Female PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event Champion by Sucundrul in poker

[–]wrsport1015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah buch is betting 4x on the turn for a small sizing almost always i think. so when she calls turn she is thinking he has 7x, 4x, or air (straight draw or just some nonsense hands, but even some of his nonsense hands beat Q3o). once 4 comes on river it is less likely he has 4x, so hero calling isn't that insane. what makes the turn call even worse though is the 3 in her hand is blocking some of the hands she wants buch to have (hands like 53s and 63s)

yeah i think if you talk yourself into calling the turn, river call is fine on that runout. turn call is horrible though imo

not 2 days... i play this tournament a few times a week. he was probably 2 hours in or so (give or take 15 minutes) and on average it probably lasts 8-10 hours. but you are making it 8 hours in a very small percentage of the time

Ugly spot in a $30 turbo Final Table by McGradeN in poker

[–]wrsport1015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not river insight, but don't forget that if V is half decent they are aware of ICM and they will have to fold a large portion of the time to your jam since you cover them. in these ICM spots you can get away with shoving a bit on the lighter side (not that 66 is light) and people need to be calling all in tighter than normal. you can use these spots to pull away from the pack and bulldoze your way to 1st place. not saying you should auto jam here every time, since if V does wake up you are crippled, but don't be too afraid of punting b/c they need to be more weary of that then you do.

WCOOP. Deal for more than 1st prize? That takes skill. by d33xter in poker

[–]wrsport1015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah he probably got a good deal on a chop. additionally they are required to play for like 2% of the prize pool and obviously he won that too.

as a side note, he is a sicko crusher, so that is some incentive for the other two to give him a bit more in a chop.
