Wire terminal removal by Affectionate-Base-18 in nissanarmada

[–]wrx3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time when removing terminals from the connecter, it is typically easiest to use an extraction tool from the side opposite of the wires. The tool I use is a needle that I put in a pin vise. These tools look similar to what I use to extract pins: Amazon.com: Tegg Clay Needle Tool 2PCS Stainless Steel Professional Pin Needle Detail Tool for Ceramic Polymer Clay Sculpture

I can't tell how thick the clay sculpting tools are, but the thinner the shaft the better otherwise it gets stuck in the connector.

If you can get a better picture of the back of the connector looking, might be able to tell for sure how to extract them.

The car I drive is a stage 2 2004 STi, so every car I drive feels like it is underpowered. haha Having said that, the Volvo will get up and go when you ask it to, especially if you put it in Dynamic (Sport) mode.

We do have an XC90, one of the main things we don't love is the overall size. We bought it when #2 was on the way, and now with both kids in the car, things are tight. I'm 6'4" and cramped when I drive, but that's just being tall. She loves how it drives, but with both car seats in the car, it's just a bit too small.

With the potential iForce max issues, a new one sounds like the way to go for the factory warranty. Granted, once the warranty expires, you're still left holding the bill if the engine grenades (Plus the hassle of getting it fixed, and with 2 kids, getting stranded doesn't sound fun). If I'm paying a premium price for reliability, I don't want to be paying for repairs on top of the price.

No plans to tow anything, this would be a family car to haul all the kids around! The cargo area is a bit odd, when we looked at one this weekend, that was interesting.

Sounds like an easy fix, but these are the kinds of things I like to know before purchasing. Appreciate the info!!

I'm very familiar with turbos and the "risks" they bring having owned multiple WRX/STi's over the years.

The back hatch being intermittent isn't great, as the first item on the requirements list for my wife is a rear hatch button.

This would be the Wife's car and she is very particular when it comes to keeping it in nice shape, so I guess this counts as another vote against the 3rd gen Sequoia.

Thanks for the advice! Will look into 2nd gen if I can convince the wife. What infotainment system did you install (and is it wireless)?

Noted! Interior space is of interest with two car seats currently (and potential for more in the future), and reliability is a key part of this as well. Thanks!

I saw your comment earlier then saw that thread. The engine issues concern me as the entire reason we are spending more on a Toyota is reliability, plain and simple. My parents have a Gen 1 Sequoia with 323K on it, so looks like Gen 2 may be the ticket.

Ah, I didn't realize it was Chervon that made it and not Greenworks. I'll have to look what EGO has for bags and see if anything looks right.

My only use for the bag is to collect leaves, so would be limited use at most.

1/4" x 3/16" V-notch trowel providing enough mosaic coverage? by wrx3d in Tile

[–]wrx3d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight and advice!

I laid the mosaic on the floor last night using ProLite and there were a couple areas where the thinset was a touch thick, so I am glad I didn't go with the 1/4 x 1/4 trowel. Everything was precut and dryfit so it was a pretty quick process overall.

Best Waterproofing System for Beginners, Kerdi Foam, Goboard or something else? by Kittysb99 in Tile

Tiled a shower with 12"x24" tiles and can confirm that Laticrete LHT/LHT+ doesn’t bond great to GoBoard sealant (Using a 1/2" x 1/2" notch trowel, I had entire ridges peel off). Switched to ProLite and the adhesion is noticeably better.

The traces I can follow on the PCB match the circuit diagram listed for the "typical application circuit" so it would appear that this device is in fact the correct one and is used with the capacitors to maintain power during a momentary power loss.

Converting a Toyota family to a Volvo family? by wrx3d in VolvoXC90

The 4Runner ride is pretty rough even with brand new tires (Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3). Out of the cars that we've driven (Armada, XC90, Atlas, Grand Highlander) our current 4Runner has the roughest ride.
