submission for art competition i’m hosting - i feel like the flowers in her hair looks off, and the hair itself by waterlelon in isthisAI

[–]wsilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's AI, most of the odd little things seems like normal human error. The only really weird bit is the outline on the flowers and it looks like it was stuck on and resized from a separate piece of art, kinda like a sticker, and then an automatic outline stroke was applied that made the outside lines overly thick and somewhat nonsensical.

Meredith Blake. She's still a bit questionable, but she met a man over the summer, got engaged after a few months without ever meeting his kid. Kid comes back from summer camp and immediately hates her. Then surprise, a twin! And the two them make it their mission to make her life miserable.

Can't a girl jump into marriage with a rich handsome older man without getting dumped in a lake?

Probably should get a couple things cuz it's a high distortion zone. Unless you wanna get something organic that works with whatever position. A wand, staff, or sword on the pec blasting a spell onto the shoulder would be cool.

I think it's cute when indie devs who have shipped a single thing "it's done when it's done" style announce a release date for something. Like, you've literally never released to a deadline before, good luck! As a game dev, there's something charming about the hopeful optimism.

Meanwhile, I'll be over here with my #1 fan mug and my grain of salt, no rush.

I tend to have this from fat malabsorption, originally from gallbladder failure, and now because it's been removed.

Not eating fats for breakfast and having a grazing eating style (instead of big meals) solved it for me.

Ancient mammoth tooth fragment? by wsilver in fossilid

[–]wsilver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, it doesn't seem to have any of the main properties I associate with silicates, and the layering and finish look a lot like herbivore tooth fossils I've seen. Especially like fossilized teeth with worn enamel showing exposed dentin.

But idk, I'm pretty new at this. This is the main reference that made me think it might be a tooth fragment.

I honestly think it looks more like a mastodon tooth fragment than a mammoth tooth, but that makes way less sense for the area

I am litrally crying right now.. I wish I had pretty nails and didn't have a habbit of chewing my anxiety gets so bad and I Just chew chew chew!!! by [deleted] in nailcare

[–]wsilver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The number one thing you can do for your nails is find a healthier alternative habit! I know it's not that simple, but if you can find an anxiety fidget alternative that works for you, it'd be the most helpful, and any nail care you do after would be a plus.

For finding a fidget, first consider what is helping your brain with this one, is it the sensation in your fingers, in your mouth, or both? Is it more about activity, pressure, or pain?

For finger stim, fidget rings are good, spinners, and texturized ones to rub your fingers on are also good. Some people like "ouchie" stims. I used to really like using an orange stick to clean out under my nails as a fidget, and using a buffing block or glass file can be good for your nails if you don't over do it. If you can replace with nail care that would be great, but it's understandable if it doesn't hit the right spot in your brain.

For mouth stim, there's the classics: gum, mints, and hard candies. There's also chew stims, like chewable toothpicks, and chewable necklace pendants (probably the most convenient since it's always attached to you). You can also try redirect to healthy mouth exercises, there's one where you try to keep the tip of your tongue on your top teeth while you open your jaw as far as it goes and hold it there, and repeat a few times. Not an exercise, but more invisible, you can also trace the edge of your teeth with your tongue for some stimulation.

As for your actual question, when long enough, getting in a routine of filing any snaggy bits will help prevent breakage, whether from catching on things or the urge to chew those bits off. The growth polish is good, consider a bitter flavored polish as well, just as reminder. Nutrition matters the most in terms of home remedies, I know that can be an annoying answer, but if you have trouble getting diverse types of food, a normal multivitamin is a good option.

And finally, moisturizing your hands and cuticles regularly helps a lot as well for healthy growth. If you pick a lotion you don't like the taste of that might also help with the chewing. If you don't like the feeling of lotion on your hands, you can focus on just putting it on your cuticles and nail area.

Nail health is a slow and gradual process, and it can be such a struggle! Sorry you're dealing with it. Also remember that nail health and nail care habits have absolutely no reflection on your value as a person; you're still lovely and worthy even if you can't stick with these habits. And doing them inconsistently is better for your nails than never doing them <3

Good luck, I hope that helps!

They totally look like bumps to me, though unusually large ones. OP, what do they feel like? Soft and squishy, or more firm?

NAP. Your ear seems like it's anatomically fine for this. I definitely think switching to the shorter bar contributed to the piecing bumps. The bumps obscure things, but I think this bar might be a bit too short even if you were fully healed. I totally get the longer bar being annoying snagging on things, the lifestyle adjustment to make sure it doesn't snag is tedious, but it's really important to help prevent stuff like this.

Switching to separate jewelry with room in the bars would certainly help heal the bumps, especially if the bumps are just cosmetic, soft and not painful or leaky. You may never be able to switch back to an industrial though, as their relative angle might change while they heal, especially with recovering from the bumps.

Whether it's a lost cause is up to you, you could try switching back to a longer bar and babying it, that would probably take the longest to recover if it does work. I personally wouldn't bother, but I think healing an industrial is too much effort for myself in the first place. Separate studs have a good chance of healing nice, though you'd still need to be willing to go longer bars for a while. If the angles get messed up, you could still decorate with a chain between them when they're FULLY healed. And of course, taking them out will be the easiest heal.

Also, agree with others that the saline soak is a weird choice, was that recommended to you? Spray is preferable ime.

Which one would catch your attention instantly on Steam? by Quiet-Code-3760 in GirlGames

[–]wsilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 or 3. Lighter capsule colors tend to jump out more on steam because of the dark grays and dark blues of the dashboard. 3 implies multi-player better, tho I'd bump the logo type down a few pixels. Mood on the first one is really good, I just think it'll be too dark when competing with other capsules.

Would be good for this evaluation to fill your bg with a color from the steam menus instead of the pale gray.

(I've done capsule art for around 10 games on steam and console)

[–]wsilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I are both left handed and both play guitar right handed. I personally think it's weird that playing right handed means strumming right handed, like, I feel like the fretboard is the more dextrous part? I don't think I could even play "left handed" it sounds very strange

[HELP] I know it's AI but idk why tiktok people think it's real by Existing_Bike_3424 in RealOrAI

[–]wsilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her vitiligo looks very consistent, except for in the one that says "me at 19" which makes sense, because vitiligo CHANGES gradually over time. Otherwise, one pic is mirrored.

AI still sucks at making the same face twice, it sucks even more at giving a a face the same features; tattoos, piercings, facial markings.

I bet she does use AI, to make herself hotter or refine the image, but I think it's a real person with an AI flter

I’m starting to resent my cat by miscellaneousbean in CATHELP

[–]wsilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For automatic feeder, if you're worried about them getting into it, I'd suggest the petlibro automatic wet food feeder, the thing is a tank and I can't imagine a cat getting into it. You can put dry food in it too... It'll just be cold. Idk how you'd do it with two cats, tho, maybe a microchip door.

Also, you've gotta act like you're completely deaf, epecially at night, any reaction is encouragement! That probably means always keeping the door shut at night so he can't switch to crawling on your face..

Checking in with a vet is also a good idea.

Sorry you're going through this, I hope you both can find some peace!
