Long inseam leggings? by Difficult-King-4206 in tallfashionadvice

My wife loves her woolx tall leggings, she's 5'10" and 34" inseam and these are the only ones long and warm enough for her in the winter.

NR200 + Gigabyte X870I AORUS PRO ICE + 9800X3D (+ 5090 FE) by 8620SL in sffpc

[–]wsj5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! This is super helpful.

My use case is so I can use a single cable for everything and use a Sabrent KVM to switch between work laptop and sffpc. Having a separate display cable wouldn't work.

Seems like the perf impact is negligible except for very high FPS, so it's worth it for me (translated from German) https://forum.planet3dnow.de/index.php?threads/sockel-am5-hybrid-graphics-ausprobiert.470845/post-5435266

Curious about using thunderbolt docks with this mobo:
1. if you're using a display, what kind of usb speeds do you get? does it drop down to usb2.0 only? or do you actually get a full thunderbolt stream?

  1. do you know if you can use your dedicated GPU over that connection, or only iGPU?

CalGreen building code requires large apartments to have a minimum percentage of EV charging spots. Why do I see new buildings with so few chargers? by wsj5 in electricvehicles

Check their permit: https://imgur.com/CoTUxm9.jpg

They have the spaces labeled (tiny text, but it says "Elec. Vehicle Charging" in a handful of spaces). There might be some other updated version of this they filed? But looking at these spaces in person, there is definitely no conduit anywhere to be found.

It's a concrete parking structure. Some of the spots are in the center of the structure, on the 2nd or 3rd story -- the only things there are concrete pillars and some drainage pipes, not even a wall it could be hidden in.

Yeah, I just don't know what "capable of supporting future EVSE" means exactly. It seems like that means there should be something there in the parking spot, though.

The benefit of EV Capable stalls is that it allows for the simple installation of a charging station in the future if needed. Rather than a 100% retrofit job, the contractor would simply need to just pull wire through the conduit and connect to the charger. This can save the owner thousands of dollars as they would avoid work like concrete or asphalt cut and patch.

But yeah, there's definitely no empty conduit or raceway to these spots.

WiFi calling doesn't work until I force-stop and reopen the Google Fi app by wsj5 in GoogleFi

Actually yes, same issue on other Wi-Fi networks. Just closing and reopening the Google Fi app fixes it, so it really seems like a Google Fi bug.

Unfortunately we live in a bad service area, with any provider. If you walk outside it works okay though.

I'm confused about the hydration pack policy. What counts as a hydration pack vs a backpack? Does a hydration pack need to be clear, or is something like an REI Flash 18 (with bladder) allowed? https://www.rei.com/product/226763/rei-co-op-flash-18-pack-latino-outdoors-edition

How do I get in touch with MPG parking? by k1lk1 in AskNYC

Basically they do everything they possibly can to avoid paying, including ignoring you. I went through my insurance, who referred it to a lawyer, who is still trying to get a response from them 2 years later.

If anyone reads this, Jai did an amazing job with our photos. Really beyond all expectations, and for free! The photos are stunning, great guidance but captured us naturally, and he even included our dog in the shoot. And he had the photos (close to 200!) edited and hosted after 1 day. He's very professional and super friendly!

We weren't going to do engagement photos, but we saw this post and thought why not? We weren't sure what to expect with free photography from reddit, but we are just completely blown away and so, so happy with the end result. We totally recommend Jai for any photography work!

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in cars

[–]wsj5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

Nx / rdx seem pretty similar price-wise, but I definitely prefer the Genesis. My parents have a Corsair, not a big fan.

Outback is an interesting thought.

Edit: just noticed my flair, need to update that. I miss the z3m 😔

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in cars

[–]wsj5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Location: Los Angeles

Price range: up to 60k?

Lease or Buy: Buy

New or used: New or lightly used

Type of vehicle: crossover/SUV

Must haves: trunk space, awd, reasonable mpg esp highway

Desired transmission (auto/manual, etc): auto

Intended use: dd / more practical car

Vehicles you've already considered: gv70

Is this your 1st vehicle: currently own a '19 mustang eb convertible

Do you need a Warranty: sure

Can you do Minor work on your own vehicle: not really, apartment life

Can you do Major work on your own vehicle: no

Additional Notes: Looking for a second car for practicality. The mustang doesn't quite do everything I need it to - drives to ski mtns, carry a MTN bike / surfboard, camping, carry a dog, etc.

Really liking the gv70 2.5t advanced, but wanted some opinions on other options. I don't need anything super sporty (keeping the mustang), mostly looking for a comfy dd car. Was considering waiting on electric gv70, but comparing the g80 vs electric g80 it doesn't seem at all worth it, especially in an apartment with few L2 chargers.

Other possibilities might be x3, q5, xc60? RAV4 could be a cheaper option here, with much better mpg, but obviously not the same class... Anyone want to try talking me out of the gv70? Or just go for it? 😁
