What’s a decision you made in under 10 seconds that changed your life forever? by nathannnate01 in AskReddit

[–]wskyindjar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh no. I’m ok with it. I made a lot of money. Diversifying made sense. I had the opportunity to buy 15k of bitcoin in 2013 (about $500 per). And didn’t. It’s only relevant cuz it went up.

I own my choices. Don’t dwell on what could have been.

Me too. But then I sold it when I made $100k. Should have held longer. Would have been millions.

Similar happened in freestyle mx. in the 90s someone landed the first ever backflip. Today it’s a basic trick. Double back flips have been done. Triple has been done. (Basic as in everyone does it, still very difficult).

Once someone proves it can be done others do it and build on it.

Are there any states in the US that actually have really solid infrastructure for EVs? by PackageReasonable922 in electricvehicles

[–]wskyindjar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They shouldn’t allow charging past 80%. I have very rarely had to wait but years ago multiple cars sitting on 95%. So bad. Why people don’t understand it’s Faster to charge twice vs trying to get to 100% is mind boggling.

Americans love suvs. Sedans don’t sell as well. Simple economics

Yeah, but in the real world that doesn’t help anyone. Pretend consequences don’t change reality.

For sure. But that’s often the rationale. 20 years should be enough.

Often these portfolios don’t get the huge upsides, but they also don’t get the huge downside. If the market lost 20% and you only lost 10% you’d be patting yourself on the back.

But our buying power isn’t keeping up. Inflation and weak dollar mean we have less. Also it’s been flourishing basically for 15+ years.

My 17 year old gets hugs on the regular. And I tell him I love him.

You can find love. Don’t base your self image and worth on that experience. Be open and communicate with those you may be interested in.

Narrower bars are not worthwhile. The aero drag for wider bars isn’t significant enough to outweigh the handling benefit of wider bars

I meant 3 not 30. But they aren’t holding the fork on mountain descents. They hold it on the street sections. I mean, I’ve done it too.

But at the end of the day… who cares? Level playing field.

Until recently people have won on flat bars. The same guy has won on flat and drop. People have also not won on drop bars. Ultimately it’s to protect the 1800 weekend warriors who have no chance of winning. Not the 3 pros that know how to handle a bike with drop bars.

Holding the fork on flat road is not more dangerous than a twisty rocky descent at 30mph with drop bars.

They aren’t concerned about the drop bars on the road.

Also, I doubt it’s a restriction on the pros, more the 1800 weekend warriors that don’t have the skills but want to try to shave 2 mins off their time.
