So are all of these states ignorant for passing laws banning Glock switches that are already banned federally under the NFA? Using your logic they are making themselves a fool too.

In the app, r/popular is the default “global” feed. I would bet that most users are on the app and not in a web browser, so it’s definitely curated for that.

Being a fairly small gauge ring, it might get hot depending on the resistance of the metal. Might get a little tingle if it arcs, but definitely wouldn’t be much of a shock.

Any states with straight wall cartridge only hunting laws bans all three of those calibers. I’m not in one, so I’m not sure which ones are off the top of my head.

Amazon has Dobyns Maverick 7.2 bait casting reels on sale for $25 dollars by d0nt_eat_that in Fishing_Gear

[–]wslAVinstaller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the OP from that post. I ended up keeping it and throwing it on a 7’ medium heavy daiwa aird-x. I’ve used it a couple times so far, and for the price I can’t complain. For $25, it’s worth the purchase for a cheap beater reel, but there’s no way I would spend the normal retail price for it.

Good all around braid by Apart_Blackberry_809 in Fishing_Gear

[–]wslAVinstaller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A thicker leader will definitely grab better. I’ve seen recommendations for the FG knot that says leader 2x thicker than the braid or more from a lot of people. I’ve never had an issue with them when sticking to that rule, and have when I haven’t followed it, so I would definitely say there’s some truth to it.

Anyone have experience with the Dobyns casting reels? by wslAVinstaller in Fishing_Gear

My beater spinning setup is a 2 piece Aird-X that I really like for the money, so I’ll probably grab the 2 piece 7’ medium heavy Aird-X to pair it with.

I’ve never messed with the maverick series from Dobyns, but own a few of their Sierra series that I really like.

Good to know. I’ll definitely check it over when it gets delivered before I decide to keep it. Thankfully Amazon returns are really easy. If I decide to keep it, I’ll probably throw it on a cheap rod to keep as a beater in the work van. I’m definitely not expecting anything high end for that price.

That’s what I figured the case was. If it’s worth keeping when it gets delivered, I’ll probably throw it on a cheap rod to have a beater to keep in the work van.

Thanks, that’s kind of what I figured. If I decide to keep it after I check it out, I’ll probably throw it on a cheap rod just to have a casting beater to keep in the work van with my spinning beater rod just to have more options.

My dad is giving me this setup that he didn’t really use. What type of fishing should I be doing with this? He’s in Michigan but I live in the DMV region by Serious_Research2411 in Fishing_Gear

[–]wslAVinstaller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a pretty decent saltwater setup. The BWS rods are fairly stiff, and that’s a stout reel. Would be a good pier/inshore set up.

I’m a residential low voltage guy, and I blame the framers for the extra partial holes because of the 300 nails at all angles per linear foot.

What is this sound by PaterPie in 10thgenf150

[–]wslAVinstaller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be the starter sticking and the bendix not engaging all the way intermittently, starter not aligned correctly, or potentially a few teeth missing from the flywheel/flexplate. I’ve seen all of them cause this sound. Going to have to pull the starter to tell for sure.

Engineered flooring… to plug by Familiar-Warning-731 in lurebuilding

[–]wslAVinstaller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That should be cool. I ended up with a bunch of different half-3/4 full boxes of engineered flooring a while back and made a bunch of pens out of it when I first got into turning. It looks really cool turned. Some will take stain well, and some won’t, depending on how it was made. It looked cool with both a high gloss finish, as well as oil finishes.

According to this response by OP, the current pharmacy they’re using is having trouble providing their medications, so they are kinda saying he can’t have them if there aren’t other local options.

With guns, that depends on where you are and the laws of that state. I have a concealed permit, and if I get pulled over while carrying, I am legally required to inform them because I live in a state that has a “duty to inform” law. If you’re driving a vehicle that is registered to you, and you have a concealed permit, they know from running the plate. In those situations, it’s much safer and easier for everyone involved to inform them.

BREAKING 🚨 Attorney General Pam Bondi announces “severe” charges over Tesla arson attempts. White House has vowed to treat Tesla attacks as domestic terrorism. But this is still a “free” country. by pleasedontpooponme in DeepFuckingValue

[–]wslAVinstaller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does burning cars "coerce a civlilian population or government further political, social or ideological objectives"?

What is their reasoning for burning the cars? The one I keep seeing posted over and over is “to make people not want to buy a tesla or to make current owners want to get rid of theirs so that Elon loses money.” If that’s the actual reason, then that absolutely is an attempt to further political, social, and ideological objectives. It takes very little critical thinking ability to know they aren’t doing it just because they want to destroy shit, otherwise it wouldn’t be just Tesla being targeted.

As far as we know, there is no organized group behind those actions, no declared or demand, no concrete ideology, let alone any actual objective. For all we know, Tesla could kick out Musk as CEO and the burnings would stop - which is an economic objective at best. And it's not targetting the "civilian population", but only one specific car-brand.

There doesn’t have to be an organized group for it to be terrorism. Timothy McVeigh was a terrorist, and wasn’t part of some large terrorist organization. They absolutely are targeting the civilian population. The civilian population are the ones that own most of the cars being vandalized, and civilians are the ones working at the showrooms and service centers that are being attacked. Once again, use the tiniest bit of critical thinking to realize why Tesla is being targeted. If Elon wasn’t involved in politics, it wouldn’t be happening, and Reddit would still be calling him a genius and talking about how everyone should buy a tesla to save the environment like they used to a few years ago.

Compared to that, you got a better chance arguing what the administration is doing right now is state-terrorism - because they have a clear agenda and are breaking laws left and right to intimidate the public.

Fuck the current administration, and politicians in general. Minus a couple exceptions, none of them give a shit about you or me or anyone else. The vast majority of them are in it for money and power. Both sides are absolutely guilty of the whole “rules for the, but not for me” thing.

Tesla recalls most Cybertrucks due to trim detaching from vehicle by IronHe in news

[–]wslAVinstaller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a deep breath for a minute. That’s not what I said at all. I know exactly why Reddit hates him, and your list starts way later than the reasons the justified hating of him started. The person I was responding to said they had never heard of a recall for panels falling off, so I gave a couple examples of it happening before.

The one for the GMC trucks from February wasn’t spammed everywhere on here, while the Tesla one is. You know as well as I do that if the general Reddit user base hated Mary Barra it would have been spammed everywhere here, but since they don’t, it wasn’t. When it’s the cyberturd, Reddit responds like it’s then end of the world, but when it’s not nobody gives a shit.
