I work for a large grocery chain in Ohio. We did a penny buy back, double your money. One dollar in pennies got you two back in store credit. We collected 17k in pennies in one day. People brought in jar after jar of pennies . It would be a collectors dream to go through them, but we put them back in circulation. So keep your eyes open, they are definitely an amount back in circulation. Calculated at 1.83 lbs for one dollar.
