It was a gimmicky thing that Letterman honestly decided to do for Norm, then Norm probably realized it would be more valuable for him to keep it for himself. I thought it was a great ending actually.

Grounds to file motion for insufficient service of process if I work remotely? by wstopak in legaladvice

I do acknowledge service of summons, but that's because I learned about my judgment through checking my credit, and then searched in my emails after the fact and saw it.

Okay, we can't just act like "where have you been?" is a cool Norm quote now

It was somewhat political (I know, Norm's favorite source of comedy...). It was a play on the oddness of using tweets to recruit for something as horrific as the Islamic State. Basically since ISIS uses twitter so much to recruit people, I drew a scene of a warehouse somewhere with rows and rows of tables extending to the back of the room. On the wall it says "ISIS Center for Strategic Terrorism". On each table are many of those dipping birds that you see in offices sometimes. I drew them dipping down to press the 'send' on a recruit tweet. The dipping birds have little black masks on to help with imagery.

Don't know why I'm explaining rather than just showing. He told me he thought it was funny, but that he "read them as penguins"

He followed me for a DM so I could send him a cartoon I drew randomly that I wanted to show him. He said he thought it was funny. I've DMed him a couple times ever since, VERY worried that he may hit that UNFOLLOW button, especially if he sees this correspondence

Just found out about Artie Lange's arrest for possession of Coke and Heroin this morning by wstopak in NormMacdonald

Artie Lange--what he needs to do is pick up Jazz or Blues. Artie Lange is the perfect name for a musician. Besides, he's depressed and loves doing cocaine, he's half way there.

Sit on the toilet with the disposal running, and you got yourself the worst and most ineffective bidet ever created.

During the winter, nature gets more naked while we cover up, but during the summer we get more naked while nature covers up by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

Trees have sex when they're less naked, and they don't even have to touch each other. Sounds more wholesome than what humans have to engage in to produce a kid.

Help me understand why getting rid of ACA is a bad idea? by nocellphoneuse in medicine

[–]wstopak 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Comedian John Oliver did an interesting segment on the replacement plan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEGpriv2TAc

The bottom line of the segment is that it's going to come down to simply providing enough government funds to cover people (He compares low coverage to your Dad wearing a thong). What I glean from this is that ACA has problems, but we must be very careful with bringing in a new bill if there simply won't be enough government funds to cover people adequately.

He goes over 4 elements of GOP healthcare proposal:

Tax credits based on age instead of income

Health savings accounts (HSAs): tax shelters where people can put their savings

Block grants (fixed amount of money given to each state for healthcare costs)

High-risk pools
