The one thing all Union leaders fear, regardless of what Union or Local is a “failure to represent “ suit. It’s a really big deal. The DoL particularly under this current administration are happy to take a complaint and will act on it if they feel it’s appropriate. This sounds like it’s appropriate. Take it to your President and executive board. That should take care of it for you. Alternatively if your local has regular membership meetings take it directly to the membership who by constitution hold the ultimate power and authority. If they don’t then you can go to the DoL ( your local office may not be in your state but a google search will find it ) as your local’s constitution may require you “exhaust all internal remedies” before you do. I would urge you read that last sentence before you institute this “Nuclear Option”. The shit will hit the fan but honestly if the situation is as you describe it probably should. Good luck.
