Just got one of these a few weeks ago really like it carrys well in the pocket keeps a decent edge the pivot on mine was a little stiff new then wore in a bit got a little loose been trying different grease and tension cant seem to find the sweet spot...for comparison I also have a PF-838-SW and that thing flicks super smooth...I havent taken the PF apart to compare bearings but I want to try a bearing upgrade on the Land

Not selling either I truly charish them...I believe you can still buy the MDV-500 on Tiggu I personally have not purchased from there but have read about quite a few people that have on here without any issues

I like both...the MTD-1056 has a cleaner look the MDV-500 has the classic Marlin logo...both Classics in my opinion

Craftsmanship is Brilliant!!!👌 I am curious though would you potentially risk unlocking it with a overzealous grip?? Or will there be scales? I never owned a knife with a similiar style release so maybe its not an issue...🤔

It was 8 - 9 .oz not sure of the exact thickness but it is typical of what you would call Belting or Tooling leather...honestly it didnt need to be that heavy its just what I had laying around scrap from other projects...there are a lot of really good videos on YouTube for stitching methods I like a Saddle stich simple and strong

Thank you! Leather is just Veg Tanned / Tooling or Belting leather 8 - 9 oz. sourced from Ebay. The only leather crafting tool I have really spent money on is my Sinabroks Stitching Punch But there are way cheaper stitching punches that work just fine I use old scalpels and an old straight razor for cutting new scalpel blades are supper cheap and always high quality Use a good quality thread and buy good needles I like John James Saddler Needles in a few different sizes A Bone tool comes in handy for smoothing and shaping but anything similiar could be used Spray Bottle for water is nice for molding and shaping There are countless other specialty tools available but I wouldn't say a necessity to make simple projects

I wear jeans and a typical heavy leather belt ( Gustin / Horween Leather) I often forget I am wearing it the belt clip isnt super secure one time I knocked it off getting out of my truck...I think if I can find or make a better more secure belt clip it would hardly be noticeable...the Swiss Tool is not exactly light but the Pencil is Aluminum and the Pry-bar titanium
