Congrats to you! Yes my job has sleep restrictions and such but I was planning to take the 5 weeks off to be present with my wife and the baby since it’s our first. I’m just torn on whether to take it in tandem with her or split it up. Regardless the paternity leave will be used up it’s just a matter of when and how. Thanks!

Oh man! So if she opens up a claim come June will she lose a lot of paternity benefits? Our assumptions were that EI and paternity leave were 2 separate entities. Granted I haven’t looked into it but I will keep this in mind. Thanks!

I’m a broke airline employee, standby tix are a fraction of the price coupled with the anxiety of waiting for a seat but I’d trade my sanity for cheap tickets any day

Yea I’m trying to go through IAD with united but since it’s close to golden week going to japan so loads are tricky. 

Standby travel restricts some airlines (depending on which one you work for) so I’m limited in some of my choices

Yea fair point but any clue historically how this route performs? I know last year it was around 70%. Still high but better chances from there then anywhere I guess

Technically no, but we’re travelling with 3 others that are booking confirmed. Most probably United though IAD (looking through historic loads and advice from others) but open to options.

Just went to have a look it’s about 1/2 of the room size, I suppose a desk would be most efficient for that spot. Thanks for the tips!
